Youcanconnectyourcomputertoalocalnetworkorabroadbandconnectionbyusingthebuilt-inEthernet
featureofthecomputer.
DANGER
Toavoidtheriskofelectricalshock,donotconnectthetelephonecabletotheEthernetextension
adapter.
ThefollowingfigureshowshowtoconnectyourcomputertoaLANusingtheEthernetextensionadapter
thatcomeswithyourcomputer.
Note:TousetheEthernetextensionadapter,youneedtoremovetheconnectorcoverfromtheEthernet
extensionadapterfirst.Ensurethatyoukeeptheconnectorcover.ReattachittotheEthernetextension
adapterwhenyouarenotusingtheEthernetextensionadapter.
TheEthernetextensionadapterhastwoindicatorsthatshowthestatusofthenetworkconnection.Whenthe
upper-leftindicatorissolidgreen,itindicatesthatthecomputerconnectstoaLANandasessionwiththe
networkisavailable.Whentheupper-rightindicatorblinksyellow,itindicatesthatdataisbeingtransmitted.
Wirelessconnections
Wirelessconnectionisthetransferofdatawithouttheuseofcablesbutbymeansofradiowavesonly.
Attention:
•Ifyouwanttousethewirelessfeaturesonanairplane,checkthewirelessserviceswiththeairlinebefore
boardingtheairplane.
•Iftherearerestrictionsontheuseofcomputerwirelessfeaturesonanairplane,youneedtodisablethe
wirelessfeaturesofyourcomputerbeforeboarding.
Dependingonthewirelessdevicesinstalledonyourcomputer,youmightbeabletousethefollowing
wirelessnetworks:
•WirelessLANconnection
•WirelessWANconnection
•Bluetoothconnection
