5Powerbutton
Youcanpressthepowerbuttontoturnonthecomputerorputthecomputerintosleepmode.
Toturnoffthecomputer,dothefollowing:
ForWindows7:OpentheStartmenuandclickShutdown.
ForWindows10:OpentheStartmenu,click
Power,andthenclickShutdown.
Ifyourcomputerisunresponsive,youcanturnoffthecomputerbypressingandholdingthepowerbutton
forfourormoreseconds.Ifthecomputercannotbeturnedoff,see“Computerstopsresponding”on
page86formoreinformation.
Youalsocandefinewhatthepowerbuttondoes.Forexample,bypressingthepowerbutton,youcanturn
offthecomputerorputthecomputerintosleeporhibernationmode.Tochangewhatthepowerbutton
does,dothefollowing:
1.GotoControlPanel,andthenchangetheviewofControlPanelfromCategorytoLargeiconsorSmall
icons.
2.ClickPowerOptionsChoosewhatthepowerbuttonsdo.
3.Followtheinstructionsonthescreen.
6Fingerprintreader(availableonsomemodels)
Fingerprintauthenticationprovidessimpleandsecureuseraccessbyassociatingyourfingerprintwitha

9NFClabel(availableonsomemodels)
Nearfieldcommunication(NFC)isahigh-frequencyandshort-rangewirelesscommunicationtechnology.By
usingNFC,youcanestablishtheradiocommunicationsbetweenyourcomputerandanotherNFC-enabled
