Remove the card
Attention: Before removing a card, eject the card from the Windows operating system first. Otherwise, data
on the card might get corrupted or lost.
1. Click the triangular icon in the Windows notification area to show hidden icons. Then, right-click the
Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media icon.
2. Select the corresponding item to eject the card from the Windows operating system.
3. Press the card and remove it from your computer. Store the card safely for future use.
Use RFID reader (for selected models of T490)
Depending on the models, your computer might come with an integrated dual-band RFID (Radio Frequency
Identification) reader. RFID is a wireless communication technology that uses electromagnetic fields to
automatically identify and track the tag or card. For a single sign-on and RFID-enabled app, you can sign in
to the app using a granted RFID tag or card.
To use the RFID feature:
1. Enter the UEFI BIOS menu. See “Enter the UEFI BIOS menu” on page 45. Then, Select Security I/O
Port Access RFID to enable the RFID feature.
2. Place an RFID tag or card above the area
a to transfer data from the tag or card to your computer. For
optimal transmission, keep the area
a free from obstructions.
Airplane mode
When the Airplane mode is enabled, all wireless features are disabled.
To enable or disable the Airplane mode:
1. Open the Start menu.
2. Click Settings Network & Internet Airplane mode.
3. Turn on or turn off the Airplane mode switch.
