5. Install a new wireless-WAN card by doing the following:

a. Align the contact edge of the new wireless-WAN card with the key in the slot. Then, carefully insert

the card into the slot at an angle of about 20 degrees

1 . Pivot the card downward 2 .

b. Install the screw to secure the wireless-WAN card in place

3 . Connect the antenna cables to the

card

4 . Ensure that you connect the orange cable to the main connector on the card, and the blue

cable to the auxiliary connector on the card.

6. Reinstall the base cover assembly.

7. Connect the ac power adapter and all disconnected cables to the computer.

Replacement procedure for wireless-WAN card with four antenna cables (for selected models of

ThinkPad T490)

1. Disable the built-in battery. See “Disable Fast Startup and the built-in battery” on page 51.

2. Turn off the computer and disconnect the computer from ac power and all connected cables. Then,

close the computer display.

3. Remove the base cover assembly. See “Base cover assembly (for T490 and P43s only)” on page 52.
