Replacement procedure
1. Turn off the Chromebook and disconnect the Chromebook from ac power and all connected cables.
2. Remove the pen from the pen slot. See “Use Lenovo Garaged USI Pen (for selected models)” on page
17.
3. Close the Chromebook display and turn over the Chromebook.
4. Loosen the screws that secure the base cover assembly and pry up the latches. Then, remove the base
cover assembly.
5. Install the new base cover assembly in place. Ensure that the latches of the base cover assembly are
secured under the base cover assembly. Then, tighten the screws to secure the base cover assembly.
6. Turn over the Chromebook. Connect the ac power adapter and all disconnected cables to the
Chromebook.
7. Install the pen back into the pen slot.
Troubleshooting
If the Chromebook does not start up after you reinstall the base cover assembly, disconnect the ac power
adapter and then reconnect it to the Chromebook.
