•Problem:IfyourcomputerisaGigabitEthernetmodel,itcannotconnecttothenetworkat1000Mbps.
Instead,itconnectsat100Mbps.
Solution:
–Tryanothercable.
–Makesurethatthelinkpartnerissettoauto-negotiate.
–Makesurethattheswitchis802.3ab-compliant(gigabitovercopper).
AwirelessLANproblem
•Problem:Youcannotconnectusingthebuilt-inwirelessnetworkingcard.
Solution:MakesurethatyourwirelessLANdriveristhelatestversioninstalled.ChecktheWebsiteand
conrmthedriverversionsupportedbyAccessConnectionsisthelatestdocumentedintheREADMEle.
Makesurethatyourcomputeriswithinrangeofawirelessaccesspoint.
Makesurethatthewirelessradioisenabledbydouble-clickingtheAccessConnectionsiconinthe
taskbar.
Note:TodisplaytheAccessConnectionsstatusiconandthewirelessstatusiconinthesystemtray,refer
totheAccessConnectionson-linehelp.
CheckNetworkName(SSID),andyourencryptioninformation.UseAccessConnectionstoverifythis
case-sensitiveinformation.
AwirelessWANproblem
•Message:UnauthorizedWANcardispluggedin-PoweroffandremovetheWANcard.
Solution:TheWANcardisnotsupportedonthiscomputer.Removeit.
Note:Dependingonyourcomputer,somemodelsdonothaveawirelessWAN.
Bluetoothproblems
•Problem:SounddoesnotcomefromtheBluetoothheadset/headphonebutcomesfromthelocal
speakereventhoughtheheadset/headphoneisconnectedusingHeadsetproleorAVprole.
Solution:Dothefollowing:
1.Exittheapplicationthatusesthesounddevice(forexample,WindowsMediaPlayer).
2.OpenControlPanelbyclickingStart➙ControlPanel.
3.ClickHardwareandSound➙Sound.
4.SelectthePlaybacktab.
5.IfyouareusingHeadsetprole,selectBluetoothHands-freeAudioandclicktheSetDefault
button.IfyouareusingAVprole,selectStereoAudioandclicktheSetDefaultbutton.
6.ClickOKtoclosetheSoundwindow.
