ThenetworkadministratorcanturnonacomputerfromamanagementconsolebyusingtheWakeon

LANfunction.WhentheWakeonLANfunctionisenabled,manyoperations,suchasdatatransfer,

softwareupdates,andﬂashupdatesoftheUEFIBIOS,canbedoneremotelywithoutremoteattendance.

Theupdatingprocesscanperformafternormalworkinghoursandonweekends,sothattheusersarenot

interruptedduringwork,andtheLANtrafﬁciskepttoaminimum.Itsavestimeandincreasesproductivity.

YoucanenablethesefunctionsthroughconﬁguringtheBIOSonyourcomputerbydothefollowing:

1.Restartthecomputer.WhentheThinkPadlogoisdisplayed,pressF1.TheThinkPadSetupprogram

starts.

2.SelectConﬁg➙Network.TheNetworksubmenuisdisplayed.

3.Selectacorrespondingoptionforthedesiredfeature.

4.PresstheF10keytosaveandexit.

Usingthevideooutputconnectors

Thevideooutputconnectorsonthedockinclude:twoDPconnectors,anHDMIconnector,aThunderbolt

connector,andaVGAconnector.Tousethevideooutputconnectors,connectanexternalmonitortothe

connectoronthedockusingacorrespondingcable.

Thedockworksinthefollowingthreevideooutputmodes:

Bydefault,thedockworksintheextendmode.Theﬁrsttimeyouconnectthedocktoyourcomputer,

theresolutionofyourcomputerandtheconnectedmonitorischangedtothedefault.Youcanconﬁgure

yourexternalmonitorstoyourneeds:

Extendmode

Whenthedockisintheextendmode,itsplitsyourdisplayacrosstwomonitors.Yourcomputermonitor

becomestheprimarydisplayandtheexternalmonitorbecomesthesecondarydisplay.Bydefault,the

externalmonitordisplayisontherightsideofthecomputermonitordisplay.

Intheextendmode,youcandraganddropwindowsfromonedisplaytotheother.Youalsocanincrease

productivitybydoingthefollowing:

•Readinge-mailsononedisplayandopeningtheattachmentsontheother

•Expandingaspreadsheetacrosstwodisplays
