YourcomputersupportsthePCfunctionsthatPXErequires.Forexample,withtheappropriateLANcard,
yourcomputercanbebootedfromthePXEserver.
Note:RemoteProgramLoad(RPL)cannotbeusedwithyourcomputer.
WakeonLAN
AnetworkadministratorcanuseWakeonLANtoturnonacomputerfromamanagementconsole.
WhenWakeonLANisusedwithnetworkmanagementsoftware,manyfunctions,suchasdatatransfer,
softwareupdates,andFlashBIOSupdates,canbeperformedremotelywithoutremoteattendance.This
updatingcanbedoneafternormalworkinghoursandonweekends,tosavetimeandincreaseproductivity.
Usersarenotinterruptedduringnormalworkinghours,andLANtrafciskepttoaminimum.
IfacomputeristurnedonbytheWakeonLANfunction,theNetworkbootsequenceisused.
Resumeonincomingcall
IfyourcomputerisconnectedtoatelephonelineandyouhavespeciedResumeonincomingcall,itwill
returnfromsleep(standby)modetonormaloperationwhenatelephonecallcomesin.
Toenableyourcomputertowakeupfromsleep(standby)mode,dothefollowing:
