plug,tothecomboaudiojack.

•Ifyouareusingaheadsetwithafunctionswitch,forexample,aheadsetforaniPhonemobiledigital
device,donotpressthisswitchwhileusingtheheadset.Ifyoupressit,theheadsetmicrophonewill
bedisabled,andtheinternalmicrophonewillbeenabledinstead.

ConnectyourcomputertoaLANwiththeEthernetconnector.

Toavoidtheriskofelectricalshock,donotconnectthetelephonecabletotheEthernetconnector.
YoucanonlyconnectanEthernetcabletothisconnector.
Twoindicators,totheupperrightandleftoftheconnector,showthestatusofthenetworkconnection.
WhenyourcomputerconnectstoaLANandasessionwiththenetworkisavailable,theupperrightindicator
issolidgreen.Whiledataisbeingtransmitted,theupperleftindicatorblinksyellow.

Note:IfyouattachyourcomputertotheThinkPadUltrabaseSeries3anduseanEthernetconnector,use
theEthernetconnectorontheThinkPadUltrabaseSeries3,nottheoneonthecomputer.
6AlwaysOnUSBconnector
TheUniversalSerialBusconnectorsareusedforconnectingdevicescompatiblewithaUSBinterface,
suchasaprinteroradigitalcamera.
Bydefault,evenifyourcomputerisinsleep(standby)mode,theAlwaysOnUSBconnectorstillenables
youtochargesomedevices,suchasiPod,iPhone,andBlackBerrysmartphones,byattachingthedevices
totheconnector.
However,withtheacpoweradapterattached,ifyouwanttochargethesedeviceswhenyourcomputer
isinhibernationmodeorpoweredoff,youwillneedtoopenthePowerManagerprogramandcongure
correspondingsettingstoenabletheAlwaysOnUSBconnectorfunction.Fordetailsabouthowtoenable
theAlwaysOnUSBconnectorfunction,refertotheon-linehelpofthePowerManagerprogram.
