8. Connect the signal cable and the power cable to the new storage drive.
9. Reinstall all removed parts. Then, reconnect the ac power adapter and all disconnected cables to the
computer.
M.2 solid-state drive
Prerequisite
Before you start, read Appendix A “Important safety information” on page 41 and print the following
instructions.
Attention: To replace the Optane memory in the M.2 solid-state drive slot, go to

for details.
Replacement procedure
1. Remove the computer cover. See “Computer cover” on page 26 .
2. Remove the memory and M.2 solid-state drive shield. Then, remove the screw from the M.2 solid-state
drive.
3. Slide the M.2 solid-state drive out.
4. Install the new M.2 solid-state drive in.
