Toputthecomputerintosleepmode,doeitherofthefollowing:
ClickandselectSleepfromtheStartmenu.ThenclickOK.
PressFn+F1.
Note:Waituntilthepowerindicatorstartsblinking(indicatingthatthecomputerisinsleepstate)before
youmovethecomputer.Movingthecomputerwhiletheharddiskdriveisspinningcandamagethe
harddiskdrive,causinglossofdata.
Towakeupthecomputer,doeitherofthefollowing:
Pressthepowerbutton.
PresstheFnkeyonthekeyboard.
Shuttingdownthecomputer
Ifyouarenotgoingtousethecomputerforadayortwo,shutitdown.
Toshutdownthecomputer,dothefollowing:
1.Click.
2.SelectShutdownfromtheStartmenu.ThenclickOK.
Usingtheacpoweradapterandthebatterypack
Thistopicprovidesinformationabouthowtousetheacpoweradapterandthebatteryforyourcomputer.
Checkingthebatterystatus
ThebatterygaugeintheWindowsnoticationareadisplaysthepercentageofbatterypowerremaining.
Therateatwhichyouusebatterypowerwilldeterminehowlongyoucanusethebatterybetweencharges.
Becauseeachcomputeruserhasdifferenthabitsandneeds,itisdifculttopredicthowlongabattery
chargewilllast.Therearetwomainfactors:
Howmuchenergyisstoredinthebatterywhenyoubegintowork.
Thewayyouuseyourcomputer:howoftenyouaccesstheharddiskdrive,howbrightyoumakethe
computerdisplay.
Usingtheacpoweradapter
Thepowertorunyourcomputercancomeeitherfromthelithium-ionbatterypackprovidedwithit,orfrom
acpowerthroughtheacpoweradapter.Whileyouuseacpower,thebatterychargesautomatically.
Theacpoweradapterhastwobasiccomponents:
1.Thetransformerpackthatconvertsacpoweradapterforusewiththecomputer.
2.Thepowercordthatplugsintotheacoutletandintothetransformerpack.
Attention:Usinganimproperpowercordcouldcauseseveredamagetothecomputer.
Connectingtheacpoweradapter
Toconnecttheacpoweradapter,dothefollowing:
1.Connecttheacpoweradaptertothepowerjackofthecomputer.
2.Connectthepowercordtothetransformerpack.
3.Plugthepowercordintoanelectricaloutlet.
