self-recoverytoolstohelpyoudiagnosecomputerproblems,gethelp,andrecoverfromsystemcrashes,

evenifyoucannotstarttheWindowsoperatingsystem.

UsingtheOneKeyRecoveryProprogramontheWindows7operating

system

OntheWindows7operatingsystem,theOneKeyRecoveryProprogramenablesyoutodothefollowing:

•Creatingandusingrecoverymedia

Youcanuserecoverymediatorestoretheharddiskdrivetothefactorydefaultsettings.Recoverymedia

areusefulifyoutransferthecomputertoanotherarea,sellthecomputer,recyclethecomputer,orput

thecomputerinanoperationalstateafterallothermethodsofrecoveryhavefailed.Asaprecautionary

measure,itisimportanttocreaterecoverymediaasearlyaspossible.

•Performingbackupandrecoveryoperations

TheOneKeyRecoveryProprogramenablesyoutobackupallyourharddiskdrivecontentsincludingthe

operatingsystem,datales,softwareprograms,andpersonalsettings.Youcandesignatewherethe

OneKeyRecoveryProprogramstoresthebackup.

•UsingtheOneKeyRecoveryProworkspace

TheOneKeyRecoveryProworkspaceresidesinaprotected,hiddenareaofyourharddiskdrivethat

operatesindependentlyfromtheWindowsoperatingsystem.Thisenablesyoutoperformrecovery

operationsevenifyoucannotstarttheWindowsoperatingsystem.Youcanperformthefollowing

recoveryoperationsfromtheOneKeyRecoveryProworkspace.

•Creatingandusingarescuemedium

Witharescuemedium,suchasadiscoraUSBharddiskdrive,youcanrecoverthecomputerfromfailures

thatpreventyoufromgainingaccesstotheOneKeyRecoveryProworkspaceonyourharddiskdrive.

Solvingrecoveryproblems

Toreloadtheoperatingsystem,dothefollowing:

1.Shutdownyourcomputer.

2.Reloadtheoperatingsystem.

•Whenthecomputeristurnedoff,pressthisbuttonandthenfollowtheon-screeninstructionsto

launchtherecoveryprogram.

•WhenthecomputerisstartingupandtheLenovologoisdisplayed,pressthisbuttonandthenfollow

theon-screeninstructionstostarttherecoveryprogram.

•OntheWindowsoperatingsystem,pressthe

buttontolaunchtheLenovoSolutionCenterprogram.

Notes:

•Youcanchoosetorestoreyoursystempartitiontotheoriginalfactorystateortoapreviouslygenerated

backup.

•Therecoveryprocessisirreversible.Ensurethatyouhavebackedupyourcriticaldatabeforeusingthe

recoveryfeature.
