Beforeyoustart,printtheseinstructions.
Note:Useonlythememorytypessupportedbyyourcomputer.Ifyouincorrectlyinstalloptionalmemory,or
installanunsupportedmemorytype,awarningbeepwillsoundwhenyoutrytostartthecomputer.
ToinstallaDDR3SDRAM,dothefollowing:
1.Touchametaltableoragroundedmetalobjecttoreduceanystaticelectricityinyourbody,whichcould
damagetheDDR3SDRAM.DonottouchthecontactedgeoftheDDR3SDRAM.
2.Turnoffthecomputer.Disconnecttheacpoweradapterandallcablesfromthecomputer.
3.Closethecomputerdisplay,andturnthecomputerover.
4.Removethebatterypack.
5.Removetheharddiskdrive/memorymodule/miniPCIExpressCardslotcompartmentcover.
a.Loosenthescrewsthatsecurethecompartmentcover.
b.Removethecompartmentcoverasshowninthefollowingillustration.

6.IfoneDDR3SDRAMalreadyisinstalledinthememoryslot,removeittomakeroomforthenewone
bypressingoutonthelatchesonbothedgesofthesocketatthesametime.Besuretosavetheold
DDR3SDRAMforfutureuse.
