Maintenance
This
chapter
provides
information
on
projector
maintenance.
Cleaning
the
projector
Cleaning
the
projector
to
remove
dust
and
grime
will
help
ensure
trouble-free
operation.
v
Be
sure
to
turn
off
and
unplug
the
projector
at
least
1
hour
before
cleaning.
Failure
to
do
so
could
result
in
a
severe
burn.
v
Use
only
a
dampened
cloth
when
cleaning.
Do
not
allow
water
to
enter
the
ventilation
openings
on
the
projector.
v
If
a
little
water
gets
into
the
projector
interior
while
cleaning,
leave
it
unplugged
in
a
well-ventilated
room
for
several
hours
before
using.
v
If
a
lot
of
water
gets
into
the
projector
interior
when
cleaning,
have
the
projector
serviced.
Cleaning
the
lens
To
clean
the
lens,
complete
the
following
procedure:
1.
Apply
a
non-abrasive
camera
lens
cleaner
to
a
soft,
dry
cloth.
Note:
Avoid
using
an
excessive
amount
of
cleaner,
and
do
not
apply
the
cleaner
directly
to
the
lens.
Abrasive
cleaners,
solvents
or
other
harsh
chemicals
might
scratch
the
lens.
2.
Lightly
wipe
the
cleaning
cloth
over
the
lens
in
a
circular
motion.
If
you
do
not
intend
to
use
the
projector
immediately,
replace
the
lens
cap.
Cleaning
the
case
Follow
the
steps
below
to
clean
the
projector
case:
1.
Wipe
off
dust
with
a
clean
dampened
cloth.
2.
Moisten
the
cloth
with
warm
water
and
mild
detergent
(such
as
dish
detergent),
and
wipe
the
case.
3.
Rinse
all
detergent
from
the
cloth
and
wipe
the
case
again.
Note:
To
prevent
discoloration
or
fading
of
the
case,
do
not
use
abrasive
alcohol-based
cleaners.
Replacing
the
projector
lamp
The
projector
lamp
should
only
be
replaced
with
an
IBM
certified
replacement
part,
which
you
can
order
from
your
business
partner
or
go
to
www.ibm.com/pc.
To
replace
the
projector
lamp,
complete
the
following
procedure:
1.
Turn
off
the
projector,
unplug
the
power
cord,
and
allow
the
projector
to
cool
for
at
least
1
hour.
