Attention:

•Ifyouwanttousethewirelessfeaturesonanairplane,checkthewirelessserviceswiththeairlinebefore

boardingtheairplane.

•Iftherearerestrictionsontheuseofcomputerwirelessfeaturesonanairplane,disablethewireless

featuresofyourcomputerbeforeboarding.

Awirelesslocalareanetwork(LAN)coversarelativelysmallgeographicarea,suchasanofﬁcebuildingora

house.Devicesbasedonthe802.11standardscanconnecttothistypeofnetwork.

Yourcomputercomeswithabuilt-inwirelessnetworkcardandaconﬁgurationutilitytohelpyouestablish

wirelessconnectionsandmonitortheconnectionstatus.Thisenablesyoutostayconnectedtoyournetwork

whileyouareattheofﬁce,inameetingroom,orathome,withnoneedforawiredconnection.

Toestablishawireless-LANconnection,dothefollowing:

1.Ensurethatthewirelessfeatureisenabledandairplanemodeissettooff.

2.Clickthewireless-network-connection-statusiconintheWindowsnotiﬁcationarea.Alistof

availablewirelessnetworksisdisplayed.

3.Double-clickanetworktoconnecttoit.Providerequiredinformationifneeded.

Thecomputerautomaticallyconnectstoanavailablewirelessnetworkwhenthelocationchanges.Open

NetworkandSharingCentertomanagemultiplenetworkproﬁles.Formoreinformation,refertothe

Windowshelpinformationsystem.

Tipsforusingthewireless-LANfeature

Toachievethebestconnection,usethefollowingguidelines:

•Placeyourcomputersothatthereareasfewobstaclesaspossiblebetweenthewireless-LANaccess

pointandthecomputer.

•Openyourcomputerlidtoanangleofslightlymorethan90degrees.

•Ifyouusethewirelessfeature(the802.11standards)ofyourcomputersimultaneouslywithaBluetooth

option,thedatatransmissionspeedcanbedelayedandtheperformanceofthewirelessfeaturecanbe

degraded.

Conﬁguringthewireless-LANmodules

Whenthesettingsofyourcomputeraresetatfactorydefaultvalues,youcanusethewirelessLANonlywith

thefrequencybandof2.4GHz.IfyouwanttousethewirelessLANwiththefrequencybandof5GHz,do

thefollowingtoconﬁgurethenetworkadapters:

1.OpenControlPanel.SettheviewofControlPanelasLargeicons.

2.ClickDeviceManager.

3.Double-clickNetworkadapters,andthendouble-clickIntel(R)DualBandWireless-AC7265.

4.Inthewindowopened,clicktheAdvancedtabandthenselectWirelessModeinthePropertyarea.

5.IntheValuedrop-downlistbox,select6.802.11a/b/g.

6.ClickOK,andthenrestartyourcomputerifnecessary.
