TheBIOSSetupUtility

Notes:

•DonotturnoffyourcomputerwiththepowerswitchwhileintheBIOSSetupUtility.Whenturningthe

poweroff,besuretoeitherexittheBIOSSetupUtilityandshutdownyourcomputerfromtheWindows

menu,orturnthepoweroffafterselectingSaveChangesandPowerOfffromtheExitmenuwhenyou

wishtosavethenewsettings.

•Duringthefollowingstates,ifyouturnonthepowerswitchandstarttheBIOSSetupUtility,donot

changesettingsundertheAdvancedmenu.

–Hibernation

–Shutdownwhenthefaststartupfunctionisenabled(formoreinformationaboutthefaststartup

function,see“Usingthefaststartupfunction”onpage6

TochangethesettingsunderAdvancedmenu,selectSettings➙Power➙Restartfromthecharms

bar.Whenthecomputerisrestarting,starttheBIOSSetupUtilityagain.Nowyoucanchangethe

settingsunderAdvancedmenu.

EnteringtheBIOSSetupUtility

TurnonthepowerandimmediatelypresstheF2keyseveraltimes.TheBIOSSetupUtilitywillthenbe

displayed.

BIOSSetupUtilitybasicoperation

UsethekeyboardtoconﬁguretheBIOSsettings.Thefollowingisalistofthemainkeysused.

•Displaysthesubmenuforitemsthatarehighlighted

withasymbol.

•MovesdigitswhenenteringtheSystemTimeand

SystemDateparameters.

•ExitstheBIOSSetupUtilitywithoutsavingthesettings

•Returnstothepreviousscreen

Returnsallsettingstothefactorydefaultsettings.

Savesanychangesandrestartsthecomputer.
