Replacingamemorymodule
Beforeyoustart,printtheseinstructions.
Prerequisitesfortheprocedure
Note:Theoperatingspeedofthememorymodulehasdependencyonthesystemconguration.Insome
conditions,thememorymoduleinyourcomputermightnotbeabletooperateatthemaximumspeed.
Attention:Beforeyoustartinstallingamemorymodule,touchametaltableoragroundedmetalobject.This
actionreducesanystaticelectricityfromyourbody.Thestaticelectricitycoulddamagethememorymodule.
Toreplaceamemorymodule,dothefollowing:
1.Turnoffthecomputer;thendisconnecttheacpoweradapterandallcablesfromthecomputer.Wait
threetoveminutestoletthecomputercool.
2.Closethecomputerdisplay,andturnthecomputerover.
3.Removethebattery.See“Replacingthebattery”onpage27.
4.Removethescrews1and2,andthenremovethecover3.

5.Iftwomemorymodulesarealreadyinthememoryslots,pressoutonthelatchesonbothedgesof
thesocketatthesametime
4,andthenremoveamemorymoduletomakeroomforthenewone5.
Savetheremovedmemorymoduleforfutureuse.
