Basictroubleshooting
Thefollowingtableprovidesinformationtohelpyoutroubleshootyourcomputerproblem.
SymptomAction
Thecomputerdoesnotstart
whenyoupressthepower
button.
Verifythat:
Thepowercordispluggedintotherearofthecomputerandintoaworking
electricaloutlet.
Ifyourcomputerhasasecondarypowerswitchonthebackofthecomputer,
makesurethatitisswitchedon.
Thepowerindicatoronthefrontofthecomputerison.
Ifyoucannotcorrecttheproblem,havethecomputerserviced.Refertothesafety
andwarrantyinformationthatisprovidedwithyourcomputerforalistofservice
andsupporttelephonenumbers.
Themonitorscreenisblank.
Verifythat:
Themonitorcableissecurelyattachedtotherearofthemonitorandtothe
rearofthecomputer.
Themonitorpowercordispluggedintothemonitorandintoaworkingelectrical
outlet.
Themonitoristurnedonandthebrightnessandcontrastcontrolsareset
correctly.
Themonitorsignalcableissecurelyconnectedtothemonitorandtothemonitor
connectoronthecomputer.
Ifyoucannotcorrecttheproblem,havethecomputerserviced.Refertothesafety
andwarrantyinformationthatisprovidedwithyourcomputerforalistofservice
andsupporttelephonenumbers.
Thekeyboarddoesnotwork.
Thecomputerdoesnotrespond
tothekeyboard.
Verifythat:
Thecomputeristurnedon.
Themonitoristurnedonandthebrightnessandcontrastcontrolsareset
correctly.
Thekeyboardissecurelyconnectedtothekeyboardconnectoronthecomputer.
Nokeysarestuck.
Ifyoucannotcorrecttheproblem,havethecomputerserviced.Refertothesafety
