Memorymoduleproblems
Printtheseinstructionsnowandkeepthemwithyourcomputerforreferencelater.
Problem:Mymemorymoduleisnotoperatingproperly.
Solution:Checkthefollowingitems:
1.Verifythatthememorymoduleisinstalledandseatedcorrectlyinyourcomputer.
Removealladdedmemorymodulestotestthecomputerwithonlythefactory-installedmemory
modules,andthenreinstallthememorymoduleoneatatimetoensureaproperconnection.
2.Checkforerrormessagesduringstartup.
Followtheappropriatecorrectiveactionsforpower-onself-test(POST)errormessages.
3.VerifythatthelatestUEFIBIOSforyourmodelhasbeeninstalled.
4.Verifythepropermemoryconfigurationandcompatibilityincludingthemaximummemorysizeandthe
memoryspeed.

Ethernetproblems
•Problem:Mycomputercannotconnecttothenetwork.
Solution:
Ensurethat:
–Thecableisinstalledcorrectly.
ThenetworkcablemustbesecurelyconnectedbothtotheEthernetconnectorofyourcomputerand
totheRJ45connectorofthehub.Themaximumallowabledistancefromthecomputertohubis100
m(328ft).Ifthecableisconnectedandthedistanceiswithintheacceptablelimitsbuttheproblem
persists,tryadifferentcable.
–Youareusingthecorrectdevicedriver.Toinstallthecorrectdriver,dothefollowing:
1.GotoControlPanel,andensurethatyouviewControlPanelbyCategory.
2.ClickHardwareandSound➙DeviceManager.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministrator
passwordorconfirmation,typethepasswordorprovideconfirmation.
3.Double-clickNetworkadapterstoviewallnetworkadapters.Ifanexclamationmark!is
displayednexttotheadaptername,youmightnotbeusingthecorrectdriverorthedrivermight
havebeendisabled.
4.Right-clickthehighlightedadapter,clickUpdateDriverSoftware,andthenfollowtheinstructions
onthescreentoupdatethedriver.
–Theswitchportandtheadapterhavethesameduplexsetting.
Ifyouconfiguredtheadapterforfullduplex,ensurethattheswitchportalsoisconfiguredforfullduplex.
Settingawrongduplexmodecandegradeperformance,causedataloss,orresultinlostconnections.
–Youhaveinstalledallnetworkingsoftwarethatisnecessaryforyournetworkenvironment.
CheckwithyourLANadministratorforthenecessarynetworkingsoftware.
•Problem:Theadapterstopsworkingfornoapparentreason.
Solution:Thenetworkdriverfilesmightbecorruptormissing.
•Problem:MycomputerisaGigabitEthernetmodelandIuseaspeedof1000Mbps,theconnectionfails
orerrorsoccur.
