Solution:EnsurethatWakeonLANisenabledinThinkPadSetup.Ifitis,checkwithyourLAN

administratorforthenecessarysettings.

•Problem:MycomputerisaGigabitEthernetmodel,butitcannotconnecttothenetworkat1000Mbps.

Instead,itconnectsat100Mbps.

Solution:

–TryanotherEthernetcable.

–Ensurethatthelinkpartnerissettoauto-negotiate.

–Ensurethattheswitchis802.3ab-compliant(gigabitovercopper).

Wireless-LANproblem

Problem:Icannotconnecttothenetworkusingthebuilt-inwirelessnetworkcard.

Solution:Ensurethat:

•TheAirplanemodeisoff.

•Yourwireless-LANdriveristhelatestversion.

•Yourcomputeriswithintherangeofawirelessaccesspoint.

•Thewirelessradioisenabled.

Wireless-WANproblem

Problem:AmessageisdisplayedindicatingthatanunauthorizedWANcardisinstalled.

Solution:TheWANcardisnotsupportedonthiscomputer.RemovetheWANcard.Formoreinformation,

see“Replacingthewireless-WANcard”onpage121.

Note:Somemodelsdonothaveawireless-WANcard.

Bluetoothproblem

Note:CheckyourconnectionanytimeandensurethatnootherBluetooth-enableddeviceissearchingfor

thedevicetowhichyouwanttoconnect.SimultaneoussearchingisnotallowedintheBluetoothconnection.

Problem:SounddoesnotcomefromtheBluetoothheadset/headphonesbutcomesfromthelocalspeaker

eventhoughtheBluetoothheadset/headphonesisconnectedusingaHeadsetproﬁleorAVproﬁle.

Solution:Dothefollowing:

1.Exittheprogramthatusesthesounddevice(forexample,WindowsMediaPlayer).

2.GotoControlPanel,andensurethatyouviewControlPanelbyCategory.

3.ClickHardwareandSound➙Sound➙Playback.

4.IfyouareusingaHeadsetproﬁle,selectBluetoothHands-freeAudioandclicktheSetDefaultbutton.

IfyouareusinganAVproﬁle,selectStereoAudioandclicktheSetDefaultbutton.

5.ClickOKtoclosetheSoundwindow.
