Whenhandlingtheinternalstoragedrive,observethefollowingguidelines:
•Replacetheinternalstoragedriveonlyforupgradeorrepair.Theinternalstoragedriveisnotdesigned
forfrequentchangesorreplacement.
•Beforereplacingtheinternalstoragedrive,makeabackupcopyofallthedatathatyouwanttokeep.
•Donottouchthecontactedgeoftheinternalstoragedrive.Otherwisetheinternalstoragedrivemightget
damaged.
•Donotapplypressuretotheinternalstoragedrive.
•Donotmaketheinternalstoragedrivesubjecttophysicalshocksorvibration.Puttheinternalstorage
driveonasoftmaterial,suchascloth,toabsorbphysicalshocks.
Somemodelsmightsupportinstallationoftwoharddiskdrives.Ensurethatyouselectthecorrectdrive
whenyouconfigurethesystemsettingsinThinkPadSetup.

Toreplacetheinternalstoragedrive,dothefollowing:
1.Turnoffthecomputeranddisconnectitfromacpowerandallcables.
2.Closethecomputerdisplayandturnthecomputerover.
3.Removetheremovablebattery.See“Replacingtheremovablebattery”onpage105.
4.Removethebottomcover.See“Replacingthebottomcover”onpage107.
5.Disconnecttheconnectorfromthesystemboard1,andthenremovetheinternalstoragedrive2.
