hasnotyetbeendisplayed,themessagewillbedisplayedwhenthecomputerresumes.Toresumenormal

Chargingthebatteries
Itisrecommendedthatyouchargethebatteryorreplaceitwithachargedbatterywhenthebatterypower
remainingislow.Forexample:
•Whenyoufindthatthepercentageoftheremainingpowerislow
•Whenthepoweralarmalertsyou
Ifanacoutletisconvenient,plugtheacpoweradapterintotheoutlet,andthenplugitintoacpower
connectorofthecomputer.Dependingonthebatterysizeandthephysicalenvironment,thebatterywill
befullychargedinaboutthreetosixhours.Thebattery-statusindicatorhelpsyouidentifythatthebattery
ischarging,andalsonotifiesyouwhenthebatteryisfullycharged.
Note:Tomaximizethelifeofthebattery,thecomputerdoesnotstartrechargingthebatteryiftheremaining
powerisgreaterthan95%.
Maximizingthebatterylife
Tomaximizethelifeofthebattery,dothefollowing:
•Usethebatteryuntilthechargeiscompletelydepleted;thatis,usethebatteryuntilthebatterystatus
indicatorstartsblinkingorange.
•Rechargethebatterycompletelybeforeusingit.Thebatteryisfullychargedifthebatteryindicatorshows
greenwhentheacpoweradapterispluggedin.
•Alwaysusepowermanagementfeaturessuchaspower-savingmodes.
Managingthebatterypower
Toachievethebestbalancebetweenperformanceandpowersaving,adjustyourpowerplansettings.
Toaccesspowerplansettings,dothefollowing:
1.GotoControlPanel,thenchangetheviewofControlPanelfromCategorytoLargeiconsorSmallicons.
2.ClickPowerOptions.
3.Followtheinstructionsonthescreen.

Power-savingmodes
Thereareseveralmodesthatyoucanuseatanytimetoconservepower.Thissectionintroduceseach
modeandgivestipsontheeffectiveuseofbatterypower.
•Screenblankmode(forWindows7only)
Thecomputerdisplayrequiresconsiderablebatterypower.Toturnoffthepowertothedisplayandmake
thecomputerenterscreenblankmode,right-clickthebattery-gaugeiconinthewindowsnotificationarea
andselectPoweroffdisplay.
•Sleepmode
Insleepmode,yourworkissavedtomemory,andthenthesolid-statedrive,harddiskdrive,orhybrid
drive,andthecomputerdisplayareturnedoff.Whenyourcomputerwakesup,yourworkisrestored
withinseconds.
