IfyourLCDpanelneedsareplacement,orderaspecialLCDpanelFRUkitforcolorsensormodelfromLenovo.
TheFRUkitcontainsaLCDpanel,aCDandaninstructionyer.ForthecorrectFRUkitpartnumber,checkon
theWebsiteathttp://www.lenovo.com/serviceparts-lookup.
ToreplacetheLCDpanel,besuretofollowthesesteps:
1.BeforeyoureplacetheLCDpanel,locatethelabelontheplasticjacketofthenewLCDpanel.Locate
thenumerickeynumberonthelabelandrecordit.
2.ReplacethefailingLCDpanelwiththenewonethatwasshippedtoyou.Forthedetailedreplacement
procedure,see“RemovalstepsofLCDcable,cameracable,LCDpanel,andhinges”onpage109
.
3.StartthecomputerandentertheWindowsoperatingenvironment.
4.InserttheCDthatcamewiththenewLCDpanel.Iftheautorunfunctionisenabled,the
PanelReplacementUtilityprogramstartsautomatically.Iftheprogramdoesnotstartautomatically,run
theprogrammanuallybyexploringtheCDanddouble-clickingPanelReplacementUtility.exe.
5.Followtheinstructionsonthescreentoperformtheinitialcolorcalibration.Whenthekeynumberis
required,typethenumberthatyourecordedinstep1.ThenthePanelReplacementUtilityprogram
startstomeasurethenewLCDpanelandperformtheinitialcolorcalibration.
6.Whentheinitialcalibrationisnished,adialogboxisdisplayed.ClickOKtoexitthe
PanelReplacementUtilityprogram.
Important:IfthecomputerisprotectedbyaharddiskdrivepasswordoraWindowspassword,doone
ofthefollowing:
•AskthecustomerforthepasswordtorunthePanelReplacementUtilityprogram.
•ProvidetheCDandthenumerickeynumbertothecustomerandguidethecustomertorunthePanel
ReplacementUtilityprogram.
FailingtorunthePanelReplacementUtilityprogramwillrequireanotherLCDpanelreplacement.
