2.ClickKeyboard.
3.SelecttheHardwaretab.IntheDevicePropertiespane,makesurethatyouseethismessage:
DeviceStatus:Thisdeviceisworkingproperly.
Ifkeysonthekeyboardstilldonotwork,havethecomputerserviced.
•Problem:Allorsomekeysontheexternalnumerickeypaddonotwork.
Solution:Makesurethattheexternalnumerickeypadiscorrectlyconnectedtothecomputer.
Problemswiththedisplayandmultimediadevices
Thistopicincludesthemostcommonproblemswithdisplaysandmultimediadevices,includingthe
computerdisplay,theexternalmonitor,andaudiodevices.
Computerscreenproblems
•Problem:MyscreenkeepsblankingwhenIdonotwantitto.
Solution:
–IfyourcomputerispreinstalledwiththeWindows7operatingsystem,youcandisableanysystem
timers,suchastheLCDturn-offtimerortheblanktimerbydoingthefollowing:
1.StartPowerManager.
2.ClickthePowerplantab,andthenselectMaximumPerformancefromthepredefinedpower
plans.
–IfyourcomputerispreinstalledwiththeWindows10operatingsystem,dothefollowing:
1.GotoControlPanelandensurethatyouviewControlPanelbyCategory.
2.ClickHardwareandSound➙PowerOptions➙Highperformance.
3.Showtheadditionalplans,thenchooseHighperformance.
•Problem:Thescreenisblank.
Solution:Dothefollowing:
–Pressthedisplay-modeswitchingkeytobringuptheimage.
–Ifyouareusingtheacpoweradapter,orusingthebatteryandthebatterygaugeshowsthatthebattery
isnotdepleted,pressthebrightness-upkey
tomakethescreenbrighter.
–Ifyourcomputerisinsleepmode,pressFntoresumefromthesleepmode.
–Iftheproblempersists,followthesolutionforthefollowingproblem.
•Problem:WhenIturnonthecomputer,nothingisdisplayedonthescreenandthecomputerdoesnot
beepwhilestartingup.
Note:Ifyouarenotsurewhetheryouheardanybeeps,turnoffthecomputerbypressingandholdingthe
powerbuttonforfoursecondsormore.Thenturnonthecomputerandlistenagain.
Solution:Makesurethat:
–Theacpoweradapterisconnectedtothecomputerandthepowercordispluggedintoaworking
electricaloutlet.
–Thecomputeristurnedon.(Pressthepowerbuttonagainforconfirmation.)
–Thebrightnesslevelofthescreenisappropriatelyset.
