Storagedriveproblems
•Problem:Thestoragedrivemakesarattlingnoiseintermittently.
Solution:Therattlingnoisemightbeheard:
–Whenthestoragedrivebeginsorfinishesgettingaccesstodata.
–Whenyoucarrythestoragedrive.
–Whenyoucarryyourcomputer.
Thisisanormalcharacteristicofastoragedriveandisnotadefect.
•Problem:Thestoragedrivedoesnotwork.
Solution:OntheStartupmenuofThinkPadSetup,makesurethatthestoragedriveisontheBoot
priorityorderlist.IfitisontheExcludedfrombootorderlist,itisdisabled.Selecttheentryforitonthe
listandpressShift+1tomoveitbacktotheBootpriorityorderlist.
•Problem:Aftersettingaharddiskpasswordonthestoragedriveofthecomputer,youmovedthedriveto
anothercomputer.Nowyoucannotunlocktheharddiskpassword.
Solution:Yourcomputersupportsanenhancedpasswordalgorithm.Computersolderthanyoursmight
notsupportsuchasecurityfunction.
