Todisablethebuilt-inbattery,dothefollowing:

1.Turnoffyourcomputeranddisconnecttheacpoweradapterandallcablesfromthecomputer.

2.Turnonyourcomputer.Whenthelogoscreenisdisplayed,immediatelypressF1toenterThinkPad

Setup.

3.SelectConﬁg➙Power.ThePowersubmenuisdisplayed.

4.SelectDisablebuilt-inbatteryandpressEnter.

5.SelectYesintheSetupConﬁrmationwindow.Thebuilt-inbatteryisdisabledandthecomputerturnsoff

automatically.Waitthreetoﬁveminutestoletthecomputercool.

Replacingtheremovablebattery

Beforeyoustart,printtheseinstructions.Readtheimportantsafetyinformationﬁrst.See“Important

safetyinformation”onpagevi

ThissystemsupportsonlybatteriesspeciallydesignedforthisspeciﬁcsystemandmanufacturedbyLenovo

oranauthorizedbuilder.Thesystemdoesnotsupportunauthorizedbatteriesorbatteriesdesignedforother

systems.Ifanunauthorizedbatteryorabatterydesignedforanothersystemisinstalled,thesystemdoes

notchargeandthefollowingmessageisdisplayed:

“Thebatteryinstalledisnotsupportedbythissystemandwillnotcharge.Pleasereplacethebattery

withthecorrectLenovobatteryforthissystem.”

Attention:Lenovohasnoresponsibilityfortheperformanceorsafetyofunauthorizedbatteries,and

providesnowarrantiesforfailuresordamagearisingoutoftheiruse.

DANGER

Iftherechargeablebatterypackisincorrectlyreplaced,thereisdangerofanexplosion.Thebattery

packcontainsasmallamountofharmfulsubstances.Toavoidpossibleinjury:

•ReplaceonlywithabatteryofthetyperecommendedbyLenovo.

•Keepthebatterypackawayfromﬁre.

•Donotexposeittoexcessiveheat.

•Donotexposeittowaterorrain.

•Donotshort-circuitit.

•Donotdrop,crush,puncture,orsubjecttostrongforces.Batteryabuseormishandlingcan

causethebatterytooverheat,whichcancausegassesorﬂameto“vent”fromthebattery

packorcoin-cellbattery.

Toreplacetheremovablebattery,dothefollowing:

1.Disconnectacpowerfromthecomputerandturnoffthecomputer.Closethecomputerdisplayand
