Problem:AmessageisdisplayedindicatingthatanunauthorizedWANcardisinstalled.

Solution:TheWANcardisnotsupportedonthiscomputer.RemovetheWANcard.

Note:SomemodelsdonothaveawirelessWANcard.

Bluetoothproblems

Note:CheckyourconnectionanytimeandmakesurethatnootherBluetooth-enableddeviceissearchingfor

thedevicetowhichyouwanttoconnect.SimultaneoussearchingisnotallowedintheBluetoothconnection.

•Problem:SounddoesnotcomefromtheBluetoothheadset/headphonesbutcomesfromthelocal

speakereventhoughtheBluetoothheadset/headphonesisconnectedusingaHeadsetproﬁleorAV

proﬁle.

Solution:Dothefollowing:

1.Exittheapplicationthatusesthesounddevice(forexample,WindowsMediaPlayer).

2.OpenControlPanelandclickHardwareandSound➙Sound➙Playback.

3.IfyouareusingaHeadsetproﬁle,selectBluetoothHands-freeAudioandclicktheSetDefault

button.IfyouareusinganAVproﬁle,selectStereoAudioandclicktheSetDefaultbutton.

4.ClickOKtoclosetheSoundwindow.

•Problem:PIMitemssentfromtheWindows7operatingsystemscannotbereceivedcorrectlyintothe

addressbookofanyotherBluetooth-enableddevice.

Solution:TheWindows7operatingsystemsendsPIMitemsinXMLformat,butmostBluetooth-enabled

deviceshandlePIMitemsinvCardformat.IfanotherBluetooth-enableddevicecanreceiveaﬁlethrough

Bluetooth,aPIMitemsentfromtheWindows7mightbesavedasaﬁlewiththeextension.contact.

•Problem:Thepointerdriftswhenthecomputeristurnedonorafteritresumesnormaloperation.

Solution:ThepointermightdriftwhenyouarenotusingtheTrackPointpointingdeviceduringnormal

operation.ThisisanormalcharacteristicoftheTrackPointpointingdeviceandisnotadefect.Pointer

driftingmightoccurforseveralsecondsunderthefollowingconditions:

–Whenthecomputeristurnedon

–Whenthecomputerresumesnormaloperation

–WhentheTrackPointpointingdeviceiskeptpressedforalongtime

–Whenthetemperaturechanges

•Problem:TheTrackPointpointingdeviceorThinkPadtrackpaddoesnotwork.

Solution:EnsurethattheTrackPointpointingdeviceorThinkPadtrackpadisenabledintheMouse

Propertieswindow.

Keyboardproblems

•Problem:Allorsomekeysonthekeyboarddonotwork.
