computerrunning.Differentcomputercomponentsconsumepoweratdifferentrates.Themoreyouusethe
power-intensivecomponents,thefasteryouconsumebatterypower.
SpendmoretimeunpluggedwithThinkPadbatteries.Mobilityhasrevolutionizedbusinessbyenabling
youtotakeyourworkwhereveryougo.WithThinkPadbatteries,youwillbeabletoworklongerwithout
beingtiedtoanelectricaloutlet.
Checkingthebatterystatus
Moveyourpointertothebattery-statusiconintheWindowsnotificationareatocheckthebatterystatus.
Thebattery-statusicondisplaysthepercentageofbatterypowerremainingandhowlongyoucanuse
yourcomputerbeforeyoumustchargethebattery.
Therateatwhichyouusebatterypowerwilldeterminehowlongyoucanusethebatteryofyourcomputer
betweencharges.Becauseeachcomputeruserhasdifferenthabitsandneeds,itisdifficulttopredicthow
longabatterychargewilllast.Therearetwomainfactors:
•Howmuchenergyisstoredinthebatterywhenyoubegintowork.
•Thewayyouuseyourcomputer.Forexample:
–Howoftenyouaccesstheharddiskdriveorsolid-statedrive.
–Howbrightyoumakethecomputerdisplay.
–Howoftenyouusethewirelessfeatures.
Usingtheacpoweradapter
Thepowertorunyourcomputercancomeeitherfromthelithium-ion(Li-ion)batterypackofyourcomputer,
orfromacpowerthroughtheacpoweradapter.Whileyouuseacpower,thebatterychargesautomatically.
Theacpoweradapterthatcomeswithyourcomputerhastwobasiccomponents:
•Thetransformerpackthatconvertsacpowerforusewiththecomputer.
•Thepowercordthatplugsintotheacoutletandintothetransformerpack.
Attention:Usinganimproperpowercordmightcauseseveredamagetoyourcomputer.
