Changingdisplaysettings
Youcanchangethesettingsforboththecomputerdisplayandtheexternaldisplay.Forexample,you
candefinewhichoneisthemaindisplayandwhichoneisthesecondarydisplay.Youalsocanchange
theresolutionandorientation.
Tochangedisplaysettings,dothefollowing:
1.Right-clickonthedesktopandselectScreenResolutionorDisplaysettings.
2.Selectthedisplaythatyouwanttoconfigure.
3.Changedisplaysettingsasyouwant.
Note:Ifyousetahigherresolutionforthecomputerdisplaythantheexternaldisplay,onlypartofthescreen
canbeshownontheexternaldisplay.
UsingtheNVIDIAOptimusGraphicsfeature
SomeThinkPadnotebookcomputerssupportNVIDIAOptimusGraphics.
Toachievethebestbalancebetweenthecomputerperformanceandalongbatterylife,dependingonthe
graphicsqualitydemandoftherunningprogramandpowerplansettingsthatyouuse,theNVIDIAOptimus
GraphicsfeatureautomaticallyswitchesbetweenHighPerformanceGraphicsandEnergySavingGraphics,
withnoneedtorestartyourcomputer,closeprograms,orintervenemanually.
Usingthecolorsensor
Dependingonthemodel,yourcomputermightbeequippedwithacolorsensor.Thecolorsensorenables
youtomeasureandadjustthecoloraccuracyofyourdisplays.
Tousethecolorsensor,dothefollowing:
•ForWindows7:ClickStart➙AllPrograms➙X-Rite➙PANTONEColorCalibrator.
•ForWindows8andWindows8.1:Movethecursortothetop-rightorbottom-rightcornerofthescreen
todisplaythecharms.ClicktheSearchcharmandsearchX-Rite.
•ForWindows10:ClickStart➙Allapps➙X-Rite➙PANTONEColorCalibrator.
Whenthecolorsensorisinuse,thecolor-sensorindicatorblinkstwiceatregularintervals.Whenthecolor
sensormeasurementfinishes,thecolor-sensorindicatorstayson.Tolocatethecolor-sensorindicator,see
“Statusindicators”onpage8
.
Ifyourcomputercomeswithacolorsensor,thedisplayprovidesacolorprofilethatcanworkwiththe
MicrosoftImageColorManagement(ICM)function.Ifthegraphicssoftwareyouareusingiscompatible
withICM,youcandisplayacolorimageonyourmonitorandmatchitwiththesamequalityoneonanother
device,suchasascanneroraprinter.

Important:Afteryouusethecolorsensorforthefirsttime,acalibrationprofileECCM2SensorData.datis
generated.TolocatetheDATfile,dothefollowing:
