•Problem:Thescreenisunreadableordistorted.

Solution:Makesurethat:

–Thedisplaydevicedriverisinstalledcorrectly.

–Thescreenresolutionandcolorqualityarecorrectlyset.

–Themonitortypeiscorrect.

Tocheckthesesettings,dothefollowing:

1.Right-clickanywhereonthedesktop,andclickPersonalize.

2.ClickDisplayattheleft.

3.SelectChangedisplaysettings.Checkwhetherthescreenresolutioniscorrectlyset.

4.ClickAdvancedSettings.

5.ClicktheAdaptertab.Ensurethatthecorrectdevicedrivernameisshownintheadapterinformation

window.

Note:Thedevicedrivernamedependsonthevideochipthathasbeeninstalledonyourcomputer.

6.ClickthePropertiesbutton.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconﬁrmation,type

9.ClicktheColorManagementtab.Checkwhetherthecolorqualityiscorrectlyset,andensure

thattheotherinformationalsoiscorrect.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordor

conﬁrmation,typethepasswordorprovideconﬁrmation.ChecktheDevicestatusboxandensure

thatthedeviceisworkingcorrectly.Ifnot,clicktheTroubleshootbuttonandfollowtheinstructions

onthescreen.

•Problem:Incorrectcharactersaredisplayedonthescreen.

Solution:Didyouinstalltheoperatingsystemorprogramcorrectly?Iftheyareinstalledandconﬁgured

correctly,havethecomputerserviced.

•Problem:Thescreenstaysonevenafteryouturnoffyourcomputer.

Solution:Pressandholdthepowerbuttonforfoursecondsormoretoturnoffyourcomputer;then

turnitonagain.

•Problem:Missing,discolored,orbrightdotsappearonthescreeneverytimeyouturnonyourcomputer.

Solution:ThisisanintrinsiccharacteristicoftheTFTtechnology.Yourcomputerdisplaycontains

multiplethin-ﬁlmtransistors(TFTs).Asmallnumberofmissing,discolored,orbrightdotsonthescreen

mightexistallthetime.

Externalmonitorproblems

•Problem:Theexternalmonitorisblank.

Solution:Tobringuptheimage,tapthedisplay-modeicon

intheFunctionmode,andthenselectthe

desiredmonitor.Iftheproblempersists,dothefollowing:

1.Connecttheexternalmonitortoanothercomputertomakesurethatitworks.

2.Reconnecttheexternalmonitortoyourcomputer.
