UsingtheDuplicateorExtenddesktopfunction
WiththeDuplicatedesktopfunction,youcandisplaythesameoutputonboththecomputerdisplayand
anexternaldisplay.YoualsocandisplaydifferentdesktopimagesoneachmonitorwiththeExtend
desktopfunction.
YoucanusetheDuplicateorExtenddesktopfunctionwithoutchanginganysettings.Ifthefunctiondoes
notwork,refertothefollowingtopiconhowtoenabletheDuplicateorExtenddesktopfunction.
EnablingtheDuplicateorExtenddesktopfunction
ToenabletheDuplicateorExtenddesktopfunction,dothefollowing:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortoyourcomputer;andthenconnectthemonitortoanelectricaloutlet.
2.Turnontheexternalmonitor.
3.Tapthedisplay-modeicon
intheFunctionmode,andthenselectDuplicateorExtend.
Tochangetheresolutionforeachmonitor,dothefollowing:
1.Right-clickanywhereonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.
2.ClicktheMonitor-1icon,whichisfortheprimarydisplay(thecomputerdisplaybydefault).
3.Settheresolutionfortheprimarydisplay.
4.ClicktheMonitor-2icon,whichisforthesecondarydisplay(theexternaldisplaybydefault).
5.Settheresolutionforthesecondarydisplay.
6.ClickAdvancedsettingsandsetupthecolorqualityontheMonitortab.
7.ClickOKtoapplythechanges.
ConsiderationsforusingtheExtenddesktopfunction
•InExtenddesktopmode,onlytheprimarydisplayshowsDOSfull-screen,andtheotherdisplayis
blackedout.
•IfyourcomputerhastheIntelgraphicscard,youcandesignatetheprimarydisplaybydoingthefollowing:
1.Right-clickanywhereonthedesktopandselectScreenResolution.
2.ClickthedesireddisplayimageandselecttheMakethismymaindisplaycheckbox.
3.ClickOK.
•WhenanapplicationusingDirectDraworDirect3Disrunninginfull-screenmode,onlytheprimarydisplay
showstheoutput.
•YoucannotusethedisplayswitchingfunctionwhenyouareinExtenddesktopmode.
