•Wheninstallingtheharddiskdrive,solidstatedrive,oropticaldrive,followtheinstructionsshippedwith
yourhardware,andapplypressureonlywhereneededonthedevice.
•Turnoffyourcomputerifyouarereplacingtheharddiskdriveorsolidstatedrive.
•Whenreplacingtheprimaryharddiskdriveorsolidstatedrive,reattachthecoverofthedriveslot.
•Storeyourexternalandremovableharddiskdriveoropticaldrivesintheappropriatecontainersor
packagingwhentheyarenotbeingused.
•Beforeyouinstallanyofthefollowingdevices,touchametaltableoragroundedmetalobject.Thisaction
reducesanystaticelectricityfromyourbody.Thestaticelectricitycoulddamagethedevice.

•Whiletransferringdatatoorfromaashmediacard,suchasanSDcard,donotputyourcomputerinto
sleeporhibernationmodebeforethedatatransferiscomplete;otherwise,yourdatacouldbecome
damaged.
Takecareinsettingpasswords
•Rememberyourpasswords.Ifyouforgetasupervisororharddiskpassword,Lenovowillnotresetit,and
youmighthavetoreplaceyoursystemboard,orharddiskdriveorsolidstatedrive.
Careforthengerprintreader
Thefollowingactionscoulddamagethengerprintreaderorcauseitnottoworkproperly:
•Scratchingthesurfaceofthereaderwithahard,pointedobject.
•Scrapingthesurfaceofthereaderwithyourngernailoranythinghard.
•Usingortouchingthereaderwithadirtynger.
Ifyounoticeanyofthefollowingconditions,gentlycleanthesurfaceofthereaderwithadry,soft,lint-free
cloth:
•Thesurfaceofthereaderisdirtyorstained.
•Thesurfaceofthereaderiswet.
•Thereaderoftenfailstoenrollorauthenticateyourngerprint.
Besurenottomodifyyourcomputer
•OnlyanauthorizedThinkPadrepairtechnicianshoulddisassembleandrepairyourcomputer.
•Donotmodifyortapethelatchestokeepthedisplayopenorclosed.
Cleaningthecoverofyourcomputer
Occasionallycleanyourcomputerbydoingthefollowing:
1.Prepareamixtureofagentlekitchen-usedetergent(onethatdoesnotcontainabrasivepowderor
strongchemicalssuchasacidoralkaline).Use5partswaterto1partdetergent.
2.Absorbthediluteddetergentintoasponge.
