4 How to select your system cable
4.1 Motor cables
For your convenience, choose your customised motor cable using a maximum of three
tables. The structure of the tables always provides for the same order in which the
components appear (’motor − motor cable − controller’).

For controllers, only the device series are listed and not the single device types.
The connectable cable cross−sections can be obtained from the documentation
of the controllers.
4.1.1 How to find your motor cable
1. Observe the chapter "Dimensioning of the motor cables". (¶ 24)
2. Use the bookmarklets in the PDF document to select your servo motor or
three−phase asynchronous motor.
3. Navigate to the corresponding chapter.
4. In the "Motor type" selection table, the controllers with which the motor can be
used are listed.

5. Select a connection cable or a combination of connection cable and extension cable.

6. Determine the product key of the connection cable or the extension cable,
respectively.
– The product key gives information about the cross−section, the laying system, and
the design of the cable ends.
– The product key also is the order designation.
