ENGLISHINSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK, OR DEATH, UNPLUG CORD OR TURN OFF
POWER at circuit breaker or fuse and test that power is off before wiring!
To be installed and/or used in accordance with approopiate electrical
codes and regulations.

Rated: 15A-125V
Use with Vacuum Cleaner Cord, Jr. Hard Service Cord; 18/3 to 12/3
AWG 0.240"-0.655" dia. max. STRANDED COPPER WIRE ONLY!
To Wire:
WARNING: TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK, OR DEATH, unplug cord or turn off
power at circuit breaker or fuse and test that power is off before wiring!
1. Loosen assembly screws in face and separate device. If needed, back
out cord clamp screws enough to allow cord to fit between the two clamp
halves. Insert cord through cord clamp and housing.
2. Strip cord jacket 7/8" from cord's end. Remove insulation exposing 3/8"
bare copper wire (see diagram 1a). Twist wire strands tightly together.
Trim off cord fillers, if any.
3. Insert bare copper wire into wire clamp and tighten each terminal screw
10-12 in-lbs. torque. Ensure insulation clears clamp; HOT conductor to
BRASS terminal and NEUTRAL conductor to SILVER terminal.
4. Assemble wired device body with housing. Align keyed housing with key
on device's body. Tighten assembly screws.
5. Alternately tighten cord clamp screws 10-12 in-lbs. torque. Ensure cord
clamp rests over cord jacket, not over conductors.

To Wire:
WARNING: TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK, OR DEATH, unplug cord or turn off
power at circuit breaker or fuse and test that power is off before wiring!
1. Loosen assembly screws in face and separate device. Loosen clamp
screws to disassemble clamp.
2.
Strip cord jacket between 1-1/8” and 1-1/4” from cord’s end. Cut
GROUND conductor to 3/4” length. Remove insulation exposing between
3/8” and 1/2” bare copper wire on all 3 conductors (see diagram 3a).
Twist wire strands tightly together. Trim off cord fillers, if any.
3. Insert bare copper wire into wire clamp and tighten each terminal screw
10-12 in-lbs. torque. Ensure insulation clears clamp. FIRST connect
GROUND conductor to GREEN hex screw, HOT conductor to BRASS
terminal and NEUTRAL conductor to SILVER terminal.
4. Assemble wired device body with housing. Align keyed housing with key
on device’s body. Tighten assembly screws.
5. Alternately tighten cord clamp screws 10-12 in-lbs. torque. Ensure cord
clamp rests over cord jacket, not over conductors.

cord clamp rests over cord jacket, not over conductors. CORD
JACKET MUST BE CUT TO SPECIFIED LENGTH ONLY. IT MUST
ALWAYS REST INSIDE THE HOUSING AND UNDER CORD CLAMP;
OTHERWISE, DANGER OF AN ELECTRICAL SHORT EXISTS.
