APPLICATION
28" and 42" Structured Media Enclosures terminate
home-run wires from wall outlets and provide a
distribution point for voice, data, and video wiring in a
residence or multiple dwelling unit. These enclosures
are ideal for new installations or retrots. They can be
surface mounted or recessed by mounting between wall
studs (on 16-inch centers), using provided wood screws
for a clean and professionally nished appearance.
SPECIFICATION
Enclosures shall be a one-piece (excluding cover) box,
made of 20-gauge, white powder-coated steel. They
shall be ush mounted with four wood screws (provided)
on standard 16-inch center wall studs prior to drywall
installation, or surface mounted after drywall installation.
The enclosures include multiple knockouts on the top,
bottom, and sides to support conduit and facilitate
cable routing and entry. The enclosures shall meet all
applicable standards: be cULus and ACA listed, comply
with ANSI/TIA-568-C and ANSI/TIA-570-B requirements,
and be UL Listed for re and burglary systems. The
manufacturer shall provide a two-year limited
product warranty.
IMPORTANT NOTES
• Recess mounting should precede drywall installation
• Enclosure must not be mounted in rewall locations
• Premium Hinged Vented Door recommended when
using active equipment inside enclosure

FEATURES
• Cutout pattern in bottom accommodates single gang or full width
AC power modules and Mini and Universal DC power supplies
• Mounting slots on the enclosure simplify adjustment for different
sheetrock depths
• Sheetrock depth marks (1/2-inch, 5/8-inch and 3/4-inch) on the
enclosure simplify alignment
• Lance slots provide clean cable management within the enclosure
• Product may be surface or recess mounted
• Ships with a cardboard insert to help prevent drywall debris
or paint overspray from entering the enclosure during the
rough-in stage of installation
• Keyhole slots on the cover allow for easier installation
• Multiple knockouts on the top support conduit up to two inches in
diameter and facilitate cable routing and entry
• Self-healing foam grommets protect cable bundles
• Holds quarter-, half-, and full-width expansion modules, with the
ability to mount most modules vertically or horizontally
• Three enclosure cover types are available: Flush-Mount Cover,
Economy Hinged Door, and Premium Vented Hinged Door
