WARNING: TO AVOID FIRE, SHOCK, OR DEATH; UNPLUG CORD OR TURN OFF POWER AT CIRCUIT BREAKER
OR FUSE AND TEST THAT THE POWER IS OFF BEFORE WIRING!
1. Cut panel opening and run wires through (see Panel Mounting Diagram).
2. Strip cord jacket and individual conductors per appropriate STRIP GUIDE.
3. Place gasket on back side of cover (see Fig. 1 & 2).
4. For CWP Devices: Fully back out terminal screws. Twist strands of conductors tightly together (DO NOT TIN
CONDUCTORS). Insert conductors into proper wire wells as follows: BLACK (Hot) wire to BRASS screw, WHITE
(Neutral) wire to SILVER screw, and GREEN (Ground) wire to GREEN screw (see Fig. 1 & 3). Tighten terminal
screws firmly to 10-14 in.-lbs. CAUTION: TERMINAL CLAMPS MUST TIGHTEN ONTO BARE CONDUCTOR
ONLY, NOT INSULATION.
NOTE: Maximum wire AWG #10 stranded. NOTE: Insert Ground conductor into wire well first for ease of installation.
For FWP Devices: Fully back out terminal screws. Twist strands of conductors tightly together (DO NOT TIN
CONDUCTORS). Securely crimp short fork terminals (not supplied) onto conductors and insert into proper fork
slots as follows: BLACK (Hot) wire to BRASS screw, WHITE (Neutral) wire to SILVER screw, and GREEN (Ground)
wire to GREEN screw (see Fig. 2 & 4). Tighten terminal screws firmly to 10-14 in.-lbs. NOTE: Use Short Fork
Terminals, insulated #12-10, stud size 10, such as AMP
®
Part #52943. NOTE: Maximum fork size: 0.43" (1.09 cm)
wide by 0.06" (0.15 cm) thick. NOTE: Insert Ground fork into fork slot first for ease of installation.
5. Mount device to panel with four (4) screws provided (see Fig. 5 & 6). Torque screws 6 in.-lbs. to 8 in.-lbs. DO NOT
overtighten screws. Ensure that gasket is visible around the edges of the cover to ensure seal.
6. Plug in cord or restore power at circuit breaker or fuse. INSTALLATION IS COMPLETE.
