Leviton's Type 1 Surge Arresters offer power users a way
to reliably and economically help protect against lightning
strikes entering into electrical equipment such as farming
irrigation systems and pumps used in oil/petrochemical
applications. They can also be used to protect against
external transient surges entering through a home's service
entrance. These devices offer a quick, cost effective turnkey
solution to the problem of transient voltage surges causing
malfunctions in pumps and motor appliance systems.
Features and Benefits
n Use of a single, large 40 mm MOV per line (each phase-
to-neutral) provides a higher energy capacity than
multiple small MOV configurations where the protection
is only as good as the weakest MOV in the chain
n Surge Arrester performance tested to ANSI/IEEE C62.11
(10,000 AMPS/4x10 μS), C62.41 and C62.45 Category C
standards (NEC Article 285) and Meets UL 1449 3rd
Edition Type 1 Device, listed ETL
