EUT ANTENNA
The EUT employs a planar PCB antenna mounted vertically in the module fixture as shown in the
separate exhibit entitled “Internal photos IYL0528RFU.pdf” see Figures 1 – 4 of that document. The gain
of this PCB antenna is -9.6 dBi. The antenna PCB includes a reverse-thread SMA connector which allows
the antenna to be connected to the radio via a short coaxial cable. The RF port of the Thingmagic Micro-
LTE radio is a U.FL connector.
The EUT is intended to be mounted inside an option tray. Installed at the factory, the user does not have
access to the radio or the antenna. As a result of this and the unique connectors on the radio and antenna,
the EUT meets the requirements in Part 15.203 of the FCC Rules.
