Privacy Protected Function Function Description Screen lock Set Swipe, Face Unlock, Pattern, PIN, or Password to secure data when turning on the phone or when unlocking the screen. PIN Code • PUK code is an eight-digit number given at the time of purchase, which is printed on the back side of the plastic card on which your au Nano IC Card (LTE) is attached. • After entering PUK code, you need to set a new PIN code in "Change SIM PIN" ( P.29).
Notes on Waterproof Properties Safety Precautions This product has a waterproof property equivalent to IPX5*1 and IPX7*2 on the condition that battery cover is securely attached (based on in-house testing). Specifically, you can make calls holding the product with wet hands in the rain (less than 20 mm per hour) without umbrella, as well as use the product in a place with water such as a bathroom or kitchen.
● Do not immerse the product in seawater, a swimming pool or hot spring. ■ Notes on various usage scenes In the rain: You can make calls holding the product with wet hands in the rain without umbrella. Safety Precautions In the bath: You can use the product in a bathroom. Although you can make calls with wet hands, do not immerse the product into a bathtub. The product is not moistureproof. • Do not immerse the product in hot spring water, soap water, detergent water, or water with bath salts in it. Also, do not use the product underwater. • Rubber seals Do not damage or remove the rubber seals. Do not bite it when closing au Nano IC Card (LTE) tray and microSD memory card slot cover. Forcibly closing the cover with the rubber seals caught may damage them resulting in loss of waterproof property. Just a small particle (a hair, etc.) on the seals can cause water leak. If any liquid other than plain water (e.g. alcohol) gets on the rubber seals, it may cause deterioration in durability.
Safety Precautions ■ Draining water after wetting the product As some parts of this product are not watertight, if you use the product after it gets wet, water remaining in those parts might wet your clothes or bag, or the sound might become hard to hear. Follow the steps below to drain water. a Carefully wipe the moisture off the main unit with a dry towel, cloth, etc. b Hold the product firmly and shake it about 20 times in the direction of the arrow shown in the figure until water drops no longer fly off.
Bluetooth®/Wireless LAN (Wi-Fi®) Function • The 2.4 GHz band used by wireless LAN (Wi-Fi®) and Bluetooth® devices is shared by various other devices. For this reason, the communication speed and connectable range may be decreased, or disconnection may occur, due to interference by other devices. • Do not use this product in places where electromagnetic waves are generated or near electric products, AV and OA equipment, or other magnetized devices.

Using the Touch Panel The display on product is a touch panel operated by touching it with your finger. Basic Operations • The touch panel is designed to be lightly touched by fingers. Do not apply strong pressure with your fingers or sharppointed objects (such as fingernails, ballpoint pens, and pins) on the touch panel. • In the following cases, the touch panel may not work even if you touch it. Viewing Home Screen The home screen is configured of multiple desktops, and desktops can be switched by sliding/flicking to the right and left. Shortcuts, Widgets, and Folders can be added by adding a desktop. Basic Operations ■ Drag Keep touching the screen and trace to the desired position.

Emergency Call Location Notification If you make an emergency call to the police, fire station or Regional Coast Guard Headquarters, your current location (GPS information) will be transmitted to the agency receiving the emergency call. memo • In this section, the police (110), fire station (119) and Regional Coast Guard Headquarters (118) are collectively referred to as the emergency call receiving agency. Phone • This feature may not yet be available at some emergency call receiving agencies.

Using a microSD Memory Card You can save/transfer/copy data by installing a microSD memory cards (including microSDHC memory cards and microSDXC memory cards) in product main unit. Also, you can back up your Contacts, e-mails, bookmarks, etc. to microSD memory card. • Do not turn off the product or subject it to impact while microSD memory card data is being accessed. Doing so creates the risk of data corruption. • This product is compatible with microSD/microSDHC/ microSDXC memory cards.
memo • Make sure that the top and bottom of the microSD memory card are facing correctly. Trying to force a wrongly oriented card into the slot could make it impossible to remove the card and result in damage.
