ASSEMBLING AND PREPARING Lifting and moving the TV When moving or lifting the TV, read the following to prevent the TV from being scratched or damaged and for safe transportation regardless of its type and size. When transporting a large TV, there should be yy at least 2 people. When transporting the TV by hand, hold the yy TV as shown in the following illustration.

When you attach the TV to other building materials, please contact qualified personnel. REMOTE CONTROL REMOTE CONTROL The descriptions in this manual are based on the buttons on the remote control. Please read this manual carefully and use the TV correctly. To replace batteries, open the battery cover, replace batteries (1.5 V AAA) matching and ends to the label inside the compartment, and close the battery cover. Be sure to point the remote control to the remote control sensor on the TV. To remove the batteries, perform the installation actions in reverse.

To prevent damage do not connect to the mains outlet until all connections are made between the devices. Connect the TV to a wall antenna socket with an RF cable (75 Ω). Turning the TV on for the first time When you turn the TV on for the first time, the Initial setting screen appears. Select a language and customize the basic settings. 1 Connect the power cord to a power outlet.
WATCHING TV NOTE For those countries without confirmed DTV yy broadcasting standards, some DTV features might not work, depending on the DTV broadcasting environment. WATCHING TV Editing your programme list When a programme number is skipped, it means that you will be unable to select it using P∧∨ (P + -) button during TV viewing. If you wish to select the skipped programme, directly enter the programme number with the NUMBER buttons or select it in the Programme edit menu. This function enables you to skip the stored programmes. You can change the programme number using “Move”function, if “Automatic Numbering” is unchecked when you start Auto Tuning.

WATCHING TV EPG (Electronic Programme Guide) (In digital mode) This system has an Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) to help your navigation through all the possible viewing options. The EPG supplies information such as programme listings, start and end times for all available services. In addition, detailed information about the programme is often available in the EPG (the availability and amount of these programme details will vary, depending on the particular broadcaster).

The top and bottom of the image may not appear. 4:3 and 14:9 video is supported in full screen without any video distortion through DTV input.

PENTOUCH PENTOUCH (Only PENTOUCH TV) Using Pentouch Pentouch allows you to use touch pen supported features like Sketchbook, Photo Editor, Family Diary, Gallery, Internet and My Office. WARNING ENGLISH ENG yyDo not drop or throw the touch pen and cradle.Do not swing the touch pen and cradle with the charging cable connected to it. This can damage the product or cause personal injury. yyFor people using pacemakers, the distance between the touch pen and the pacemaker should be at least 30 cm.
PENTOUCH yyWhen multiple people use the touch pen and cradle, make sure that sufficient space is available. Collisions can cause injury or failures. Step of using the Pentouch program Follow the steps below to use the Pentouch function. 1 Check the system requirements before installation. 2 Install the Pentouch program from the installation CD. 3 Pair the pen and the dongle. 4 Connect the PC and the TV. 6 Activate the Pentouch mode on the TV. 7 Start the Pentouch program.
PENTOUCH Removing the Pentouch Program If there is a problem with the Pentouch program or if an error occurs while using the program, follow the steps below to remove the program, and then reinstall them. 1 On your computer, select [Start] → [Control Panel] → [Add/Remove Programs] to remove the Pentouch program. - The installed Pentouch program: LG Pentouch TV Pairing between Touch Pen and Dongle What is Pairing? You need to pair the touch pen and the dongle before using the touch pen.

PENTOUCH NOTE The method of changing display resolution yy settings may vary according to the computer’s configuration. Pentouch does not support dual monitor yy mode or duplicate (mirror) monitor mode. Check that the PC screen is set to only be displayed on the TV. The switch screen key of the laptop may be yy subject to change by the manufacturer. CAUTION The Play Video function in Photo Editor may yy not work as intended, depending on the codecs installed on your computer.

NETWORK SETTING 55 NETWORK SETTING Connecting to a wired network *LAN is available only in countries supporting HD MHEG. Connect the TV to a local area network (LAN) via the LAN port as shown on the following illustration and set up the network settings. (See p.81). After making a physical connection, a small number of home networks may require the TV network settings to be adjusted. For most home networks, the TV will connect to automatically without any adjustments.
NETWORK SETTING NOTE yy If you want to access the Internet directly on your TV, the broadband internet connection should always be on. yy If you cannot access the Internet, check the network conditions from a PC on your network. yy When you use Network Setting, check the LAN cable or check if DHCP in the router is turned on. yy If you do not complete the network settings, the network may not work properly.
