REMOTE CONTROL REMOTE CONTROL The descriptions in this manual are based on the buttons on the remote control. Please read this manual carefully and use the TV correctly. To replace batteries, open the battery cover, replace batteries (1.5 V AAA) matching and ends to the label inside the compartment, and close the battery cover. Be sure to point the remote control to the remote control sensor on the TV. To remove the batteries, perform the installation actions in reverse.

To prevent damage do not connect to the mains outlet until all connections are made between the devices. Connect the TV to a wall antenna socket with an RF cable (75 Ω). WATCHING TV In DTV/RADIO mode Skipping a programme number 1 Press the Navigation buttons to scroll to select a programme number to be skipped. 2 Press Blue button to turn the programme number. 3 Press Blue button to release. NOTE yy When programmes are to be skipped, the skipped programme shows in blue and these programmes will not be selected by the P ^ or v buttons during TV viewing.
WATCHING TV Auto Sort 1 Press the Navigation buttons to start Auto Sort and press OK. NOTE After activating Auto Sort once, you can no yy longer edit programmes. Locking a programme number 1 Press the Navigation buttons to scroll to select a programme number to be locked. 2 Press Yellow button to turn the programme number. 3 Press Yellow button to release. It can be registered as Lock programme yy even when Lock System is turned Off.

WATCHING TV EPG (Electronic Programme Guide) (In digital mode) This system has an Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) to help your navigation through all the possible viewing options. The EPG supplies information such as programme listings, start and end times for all available services. In addition, detailed information about the programme is often available in the EPG (the availability and amount of these programme details will vary, depending on the particular broadcaster).

WATCHING TV Schedule List Mode 29 - 16:9: Resizes images to fit the screen width. If you’ve created a schedule list, a scheduled programme is displayed at the scheduled time even when you are watching a different programme at the time. WATCHING TV - Full Wide: When TV receives the wide screen signal, it will let you adjust the picture horizontally or vertically, in a linear proportion,to fill the entire screen fully. - Zoom: Enlarges an image to fit the screen width. The top and bottom of the image may not appear. 4:3 and 14:9 video is supported in full screen without any video distortion through DTV input.

WATCHING TV Adding an Input label Add a label to an input source so that you can easily identify a device connected to each input source. PENTOUCH PENTOUCH Using Pentouch Pentouch allows you to use touch pen supported features like Sketchbook, Photo Editor, Family Diary, Gallery, Internet and My Office. WARNING ENGLISH ENG Do not drop or throw the touch pen.Do yy not swing the touch pen with the charging cable connected to it. This can damage the product or cause personal injury. For people using pacemakers, the yy distance between the touch pen and the pacemaker should be at least 30 cm.
PENTOUCH charging port and PC. Do not handle the touch pen with excessive yy force. If you use the touch pen with excessive force, you may leave foreign substances on the screen. Clean the product with the product cleaning cloth provided. When multiple people use the touch pen, yy make sure that sufficient space is available. Collisions can cause injury or failures. Step of using the Pentouch program Follow the steps below to use the Pentouch function. 1 Check the system requirements before installation.
PENTOUCH Installing the USB Dongle Driver Install the Pentouch program before installing the USB dongle driver. 1 Click [ Install the Pentouch USB Dongle Driver] on the web page. Selects a language to display, and then Install the Pentouch USB Dongle Driver. The default folder is used for installation. A window appears to indicate that the installation has completed successfully. 2 In Windows XP, the [Found New Hardware Wizard] installs your driver automatically.
PENTOUCH Pairing between Touch Pen and Dongle 39 Touch Pen 1 2 What is Pairing? You need to pair the touch pen and the dongle before using the touch pen. Once paired, you do not need to pair them again unless you: Bought a new pen yy Replaced the old pen with a new one yy Attempt to pair a new touch pen for using two yy pens simultaneously 3 4 No.
PENTOUCH 2 Keep the touch pen within 50 cm of the dongle. Press the /Home button on the touch pen once. The LED indicator on the touch pen will turn red for 2 seconds and blink green 3 times when pairing is complete. 3 Once the touch pen is paired, the red LED will blink once when you press the ton. /Home but- NOTE Pairing is required only when using the yy touch pen for the first time. Next time you want to use the touch pen, insert the Pentouch dongle first.
PENTOUCH Using the Pentouch Function 41 Display Resolution Settings for Pentouch On a Desktop Computer Image shown may differ from your TV. yy You need the following items to use the Pentouch functions: - Computer with RGB or HDMI output - RGB or HDMI cable 1 After connecting the TV and the PC with an RGB cable or an HDMI cable, use the INPUT button on the remote controller and select the input connected to the PC.
PENTOUCH Method 2: CAUTION Open the control panel for the graphics card on your computer. Set [Display Mode] to the [Single Display] mode, then select [LG TV] as the display to use. * Set the computer’s display resolution to 1920x1080 (Except for 50PT49**), 1024x768 (Only 50PT49**). NOTE The method of changing display resolution yy settings may vary according to the computer’s configuration. Pentouch does not support dual monitor yy mode or duplicate (mirror) monitor mode.

If you short tap an object and drag, the area of the selected object will be displayed. The object will be resized based on the corresponding corner/edge.

3D IMAGING 3D IMAGING (Only 3D Models) 3D Technology This TV can display in 3D via 3D broadcasting or when the TV is connected to a compatible device, such as a Blu-ray 3D Player. You need such a device to watch the TV in 3D. The 3D TV displays two separate pictures formatted for each eye. The viewer needs to wear 3D glasses in order to see these images in 3D format.
3D IMAGING NOTE When Using 3D Glasses CAUTION yy 3D glasses are sold separately. Refer to the 3D glasses manual for operating instructions. yy Do not use the 3D glasses to replace your corrective glasses, sunglasses or protective goggles. yy Do not store the 3D glasses in hot or cold locations. yy Do not drop objects onto the 3D glasses. Do not drop or bend the glasses. yy Since the lenses of the 3D glasses are easily scratched, make sure to clean only with a soft cloth.
3D IMAGING Watching 3D images y Image shown may differ from your TV. 1 Play the 3D video or select 3D channel. (2D to 3D mode is available with all contents) 2 Press 3D and select same type in your displayed picture on the screen. 3D IMAGING 55 CAUTION yy Some menus may not work while watching the TV in 3D. yyIf used 3D effect on the 2D source, 3D may not work. yy The 3D imaging mode is disabled automatically when switching DTV channels or input source. yy The screen may not be displayed properly if you view 2D DTV images in 3D imaging mode. yy 3D effect can be seen when 3D Mode is selected appropriately for the 3D input signal supplied to the TV. yy For *mpo files (3D camera files), the 3D imaging mode is enabled automatically.
ENTERTAINMENT ENTERTAINMENT Connecting to a wired network (Depending on model) Connect the TV to a local area network (LAN) via the LAN port as shown on the following illustration and set up the network settings. If wired and wireless networks are both available, wired is the preferred method. After making a physical connection, a small number of home networks may require the TV network settings to be adjusted. For most home networks, the TV will connect to automatically without any adjustments.
ENTERTAINMENT NOTE yy If you want to access the Internet directly on your TV, the broadband internet connection should always be on. yy If you cannot access the Internet, check the network conditions from a PC on your network. yy When you use Network Setting, check the LAN cable or check if DHCP in the router is turned on. yy If you do not complete the network settings, the network may not work properly.
ENTERTAINMENT Connecting USB storage devices Connect USB storage devices such as a USB flash memory, external hard drive to the TV and use multimedia features (See “Browsing files”on p.59). Connect a USB flash memory or USB memory card reader to the TV as shown on the following illustration.
