You can wirelessly pair your Bluetooth-enabled phone to certain Bluetooth devices, including headsets and handsfree devices. You may also use a personal computer or hand-held device to pair with the phone for dial-up networking, using the phone as a wireless modem (page 130).

Once your phone is on, it may display “Searching for Service,” which indicates that your phone is searching for a signal. When your phone finds a signal, it automatically enters standby mode – the phone’s idle state. At this point, you are ready to begin making and receiving calls.

Removing the Battery WARNING: Do not handle a damaged or leaking Lithium Polymer battery as you can be burned. To remove your battery: 1. Make sure the power is off so that you don’t lose any stored numbers or messages. 2.

Phone Basics Keeping track of your battery’s charge is important. If your battery level becomes too low, your phone automatically turns off and you will lose all the information you were just working on.

With this feature, you can dial speed dial entries using one keypress for locations 1-9 or two keypresses for locations 10-99. To use One-Touch Dialing for speed dial locations 1-9: Press and hold the appropriate key for approximately two seconds.

When you display a screen where you can enter text, press the right softkey to change the character input mode. 2.

(To select the T9Word mode when entering text, see “Selecting a Character Input Mode”on page 35.) T9 Text Input analyzes the letters you enter using an intuitive word database and creates a suitable word. (The word may change as you type.) To enter a word using T9 Text Input: 1. Select the T9Word character input mode.

Vibrating Ringer alerts you to calls or messages without disturbing others. Downloaded Ringers can be downloaded right to your phone. Your Phone’s Settings Ringer types help you identify incoming calls and messages. You can assign ringer types to individual Contacts entries, types of calls, and types of messages.

The phone’s Silence All option allows you to mute all sounds without turning your phone off. To activate Silence All: With the phone open, press and hold the volume key down in standby mode.
