Connections Connecting to a TV Make one of the following connections, depending on the capabilities of your existing equipment. T ips • Depending on your TV and other equipment you wish to connect, there are various ways you could connect the unit. Use one of the connections described below. • Please refer to the manuals of your TV, VCR, Stereo System or other devices as necessary to make the best connections. Caution • Make sure the unit is connected directly to the TV.
Connections Connecting to Auxiliary Equipment Connect the supplied FM/AM antennas to listen to the radio. • Connect the AM loop antenna to the AM antenna connector. • Connect the FM wire antenna to the FM antenna connector. You can use VCR or other unit connected to the AUX connector.
Connections USB Function To Remove the USB from the unit You can enjoy the media files such as tunes (MP3/WMA) saved in an MP3 player or USB memory by connecting the storage device to the USB port of this unit. 1. 2. Connections Speaker System Connection PREPARATION Connect the speakers using the supplied speaker cables by matching the colors of the terminals and those of the cords. Before Operation Volume Adjustment MP3 Optimizer • Turn VOLUME knob clockwise to increase the sound level, or counterclockwise to decrease it. • Press VOLUME + to increase the sound level, or use VOLUME - to decrease it on the remote control. This function optimizes for compressed MP3 files. It improves the bass sound to make sweet sound. Each time you press “ XDSS plus ”. The setting changes in the following order.

Before Operation Timer Function With the TIMER function you can have the radio reception, CD play, USB play and TAPE play turned on and off at the desired time. 1 Press CLOCK to check the current time. 6 7 8 Press SET/CD[[ to confirm the turn on hour time. 9 10 11 12 13 14 Set the turn off hour time turning MULTI JOG. 15 Turn the system off. The selected timer functions are automatically switched on and off at the preset times. For your reference If you don’t set clock, timer function doesn’t work.
Before Operation You can display various information about the disc loaded on-screen. 1 Press DISPLAY to show various playback information. The displayed items differ depending on the disc type or playing status. You can select an item by pressing / and GENERAL OPERATION Press SETUP. The Setup menu appears. 1 Use / to select the desired option then press 2 thetocurrent move to the second level. The screen shows setting for the selected item, as well as alternate setting(s).
Before Operation DISPLAY Progressive Scan Progressive Scan Video provides the highest quality pictures with less flickering. When you are using the COMPONENT VIDEO OUT jacks, but are connecting the unit to a standard (analog) television, set Progressive Scan to Off. If you are using the Component Video jacks for connection to a TV or monitor that is compatible with a progressive scan signal, set Progressive Scan to On.
AUDIO 3 Select a rating from 1 to 8 using the / buttons. Rating 1-8: Rating one (1) has the most restrictions and rating eight (8) is the least restrictive. Before Operation OTHERS Semi Karaoke When a chapter/ title / track is fully finished ,this function shows the score in the screen with a fanfare sound. Semi Karaoke on : - Turn the “Semi Karaoke” function on. When you finished singing a score will appear on the screen. PBC VCD Set Playback Control (PBC) to On or Off. On: Video CDs with PBC are played according to the PBC. Off: Video CDs with PBC are played the same way as Audio CDs.
Operation with DVD and Video CD General features Operations Z (OPEN / CLOSE) Opens or closes the disc tray. X (PAUSE) During playback, press X to pause playback. ALL Press X repeatedly to play Frame-by-Frame. DVD During playback, press SKIP (. or >) to go to the next chapter/track or to return to the beginning of the current chapter/track. ALL SKIP (. / >) ALL VCD DivX Press SKIP . twice briefly to step back to the previous chapter/track.

Press / to select the time clock icon and “--:--:--” appears. 3. Input the required start time in hours, minutes, and seconds from left to right. If you enter the wrong numbers, press CLEAR to remove the numbers you entered. Then input the correct numbers. 4. Press SELECT/ENTER to confirm.
Playing an Audio CD or MP3/WMA file Programmed Playback This unit can play Audio CDs or MP3/WMA files. The program function enables you to store your favorite tracks from any disc in the unit memory. DivX disc compatibility with this player is limited as follows: • Available resolution size of the DivX file is under 720x576 (W x H) pixel. • The file name of the DivX subtitle is available by 20-40 characters (if differs according to language). • If there is impossible code to express in the DivX file, it may be displayed as " _ " mark in the display.
Operation with RADIO Presetting the radio stations Listening to the radio You can preset 50 stations for FM and AM. Before tuning, make sure that you have turned the volume down to the minimum level. 1 1 Press TUNER/BAND on the remote control to show either FM or AM in the display window.
