Basic Functions ◄/► Power on Press the joystick button once with your finger to turn on the monitor. Power off Press and hold the joystick button once with your finger to turn off the monitor. Volume Control You can control the volume by moving the joystick button left/right.
ASSEMBLING AND PREPARING Moving and Lifting the Monitor ENGLISH ENG When moving or lifting the monitor, follow these instructions to prevent the monitor from being scratched or damaged and to ensure safe transportation regardless of its shape or size. It is advisable to place the monitor in the yy original box or packing material before attempting to move it. Before moving or lifting the monitor, disconyy nect the power cord and all cables. Hold the top and bottom of the monitor frame yy firmly.

Front When adjusting the angle, may cause damage or abnormality over excessive force. Rear Using the Kensington security system The Kensington security system connector is located at the back of the Monitor set. For more information of installation and using, refer to the manual supplied with the Kensington security system or visit http://www.kensington.com .

USING THE MONITOR SET 13 USING THE MONITOR SET Your Monitor set supports Plug & Play*. yy *Plug & Play: A PC recognizes a connected device that users connect to a PC and turn on, without device configuration or user intervention. DVI-D connection Transmits a digital video signal from your PC to the Monitor set. Connect the PC and the Monitor set with a DVI cable as shown in the following illustrations. D-SUB connection Transmits analog video from your PC to the Monitor set.
USING THE MONITOR SET CAUTION ENGLISH Connect the signal input cable yy and tighten it by turning the screws clockwise. Do not press the screen with yy your finger for a long time as this may result in temporary distortion on the screen. Avoid displaying a fixed image on the yy screen for a long period of time to prevent image burn. Use a screensaver if possible. Connecting to AV Devices HDMI connection Transmits the digital video and audio signals from your AV devices to the monitor.
USING THE MONITOR SET 15 Connecting to External Devices Connect peripheral devices to the monitor using headphone ports. (sold separately) NOTE Peripheral devices are sold separately. yy Cables with angled plugs may have clearyy ance issues, use straight plugs when possible. INSTALLING LG MONITOR SOFTWARE INSTALLING THE LG MONITOR SOFTWARE ENGLISH ENG Installing The Screen Split Insert the the owner's manual CD included in the product package into your PC's CD driver and install the LG Monitor Software. 1 Set the default Web browser to Internet Explorer. 3 Follow the instructions to proceed with the 2 Click the "Screen Split" on the CD's main 4 Check "I accept the terms of the agreement" on screen. It is effective forhigh quality video or game. Middle The optimized picture quality is displayed when a user wants images between low and highmodes for comfortable viewing. It is effective for UCC or SD video. Low The optimized picture quality is displayed when a user wants smooth and natural images.

Reader 1 It is a mode that the screen is adjusted to the best for the newspaper.
TROUBLESHOOTING 27 Check the following before calling for service. No image appears Is the power cord of the display connected? Is the power indicator light on? Is the power indicator flickering? Do you see an "OUT OF RANGE" message on the screen? Do you see a "NO SIGNAL" message on the screen? yy Check and see if the power cord is connected properly to the power outlet. yy Press the Power button.
TROUBLESHOOTING CAUTION ENGLISH ENG Check Control Panel ► Display ► Settings and see if the frequency or the resolution were yy changed. If yes, readjust the video card to the recommend resolution. If the recommended resolution (optimal resolution) is not selected, letters may be blurred and the yy screen may be dimmed, truncated or biased. Make sure to select the recommend resolution.
