How to Use the Joystick Button You can easily control the functions of the monitor by pressing the joystick button or moving it left/right/up/ down with your finger. ENGLISH Lighting Basic Functions (Power on): Press the joystick button once with your finger to turn on the monitor. ( Power off): Press and hold the joystick button once more than 5 seconds with your finger to turn off the monitor. (Volume control): You can control the volume by moving the joystick button left/right.
How to Use the Lighting Button You can easily control the functions of the monitor by pressing the lighting button or moving it left/right with your finger. : Pressing the lighting button enables you to change the lights on the back of the monitor to eight different colors. : Press and hold the lighting button once with your finger to turn off the lighting on the back of the monitor. : You can control the lighting brightness by moving the lighting button left/right.
Moving and Lifting the Monitor ENGLISH 8 When moving or lifting the monitor, follow these instructions to prevent the monitor from being scratched or damaged and to ensure safe transportation, regardless of its shape or size. •• Place the monitor in the original box or packing material before attempting to move it. •• Before moving or lifting the monitor, disconnect the power cord and all other cables. •• Hold the bottom and side of the monitor frame firmly. Do not hold the panel itself.
Installing on a Table •• Lift the monitor and place it on the table in an upright position. Place the monitor at least 100 mm (3.9 inches) away from the wall to ensure sufficient ventilation. CAUTION ENGLISH •• Unplug the power cord before moving or installing the monitor. There is risk of electric shock. •• Make sure to use the power cord that is provided in the product package and connect it to a grounded power outlet.
Adjusting the Stand Height 1 Place the monitor mounted on the stand base in an upright position. 2 Handle the monitor with both hands for safety. ENGLISH Max. 110.0 mm (4.3 inches) WARNING •• When adjusting the screen height, do not place your hand on the stand body to avoid injury to your fingers. Adjusting the Angle 1 Place the monitor mounted on the stand base in an upright position. 2 Adjust the angle of the screen.
Pivot Feature 1 Raise the monitor to the maximum height. The pivot feature allows the monitor to rotate 90 ° clockwise. WARNING Monitor’s head ENGLISH •• When using the Pivot function, do not rotate the monitor too fast or with excessive force. -- The head may come in contact with the stand and scratch the base. -- Be careful as you may injure your finger by jamming it between the head and the stand. 2 Adjust the angle of the monitor in the direction of the arrow as shown in the figure.
3 Rotate the monitor clockwise as shown in the figure. ENGLISH 4 Complete the installation by rotating the monitor 90 ° as shown below. 12 NOTE •• Auto Pivot feature of the display is not supported. •• The screen can be rotated easily using the screen pivot shortcut key provided with your Windows operating system. Note that some Windows versions and some graphics card drivers may use different settings for the screen pivot key or may not support the pivot key at all.
Installing on the Wall For more information on installation and usage, refer to the Kensington lock owner’s manual or visit the website at http://www.kensington.com. Connect the monitor to a table using the Kensington security system cable. This monitor meets the specifications for the wall mount plate or other compatible devices. Install the monitor at least 100 mm (3.9 inches) away from the wall and leave about 100 mm (3.9 inches) of space at each side of the monitor to ensure sufficient ventilation.
Installing the Wall Mount Plate To install the monitor to a wall, attach a wall mounting bracket (optional) to the back of the monitor. Make sure that the wall mounting bracket is securely fixed to the monitor and to the wall. CAUTION ENGLISH •• Unplug the power cord before moving or installing the monitor to avoid electric shock. •• Installing the monitor on the ceiling or on a slanted wall may result in the monitor falling off, which could lead to injury. Use an authorized LG wall mount and contact the local dealer or qualified personnel. •• To prevent injury, this apparatus must be securely attached to the wall in accordance with the installation instructions.
ENGLISH 16 USING THE MONITOR Connecting to a PC •• Illustrations in this manual may differ from the actual product. Press the joystick button, go to [Settings] > [Input], and then select the input option. * CAUTION •• If you use generic cables not certified by LG, the screen may not display or there may be image noises. •• Do not press the screen for a prolonged time. This may cause image distortion. •• Do not display a still image on the screen for a prolonged time. This may cause image retention.
DisplayPort Connection Transmits digital video and audio signals from your PC to the monitor. NOTE Connecting AV Devices HDMI Connection HDMI transmits digital video and audio signals from your AV device to the monitor. NOTE •• Using a DVI to HDMI / DP (DisplayPort) to HDMI cable may cause compatibility issues. •• Use a certified cable with the HDMI logo attached. If you do not use a certified HDMI cable, the screen may not display or a connection error may occur.
Connecting Headphones Connect peripherals to the monitor via the headphones port. NOTE ENGLISH •• Peripheral devices are sold separately. •• Depending on the audio settings of the PC and external device, headphones and speaker functions may be limited. •• If you use angled earphones, it may cause a problem with connecting another external device to the monitor. Therefore, it is recommended to use straight earphones.
Main Menu Features ENGLISH •• Main menu disabled: Enables the main menu. •• Main menu enabled: Exits the main menu. (Holding down the button more than 5 seconds to turn off the monitor. You can turn off the monitor this way at any time, including when the OSD is on.) •• Main menu disabled: Adjusts the monitor volume level. ( , ) •• Main menu enabled: Enters the [Input] features. ( ) / Enters the [Settings] feature. ( ) •• Main menu disabled: Adjusts the monitor brightness level.
ENGLISH Menu Settings [Game Mode] 1 To view the OSD menu, press the joystick button at the bottom of the monitor and then enter the [Settings]. 2 Move the joystick up/down and left/right to set the options. 3 To return to the upper menu or set other menu items, move the joystick to or pressing ( ) it. 4 If you want to exit the OSD menu, move the joystick to until you exit.
[Game Mode] on HDR signal NOTE •• HDR content may not display correctly depending on Windows 10 OS settings, please check HDR on/off settings in Windows. •• When the HDR function is turned on, the characters or picture quality may be poor according to Graphic card performance. •• While the HDR function is on, screen flickering or cracking may occur when changing the monitor input or power on/off according to Graphic card performance.
ENGLISH •• [Black Stabilizer]: You can control the black contrast to have better visibility in dark scenes. You can easily distinguish objects on dark game screens. •• [Response Time]: Sets a response time for displayed pictures based on the speed of the screen. For a normal environment, it is recommended that you use [Fast]. For a fast-moving picture, it is recommended that you use [Faster]. Setting to [Faster] may cause image sticking. -- [Faster]: Sets the response time to [Faster].
[Settings] > [Picture Adjust] > [Picture Reset] •• [Do you want to reset your picture settings?]: -- [No]: Cancel the select. -- [Yes]: Returns to the default settings. [Input] [Settings] > [Input] •• [Input]: Selects the input mode. •• [Ratio]: Adjusts the aspect ratio of the screen. The display may look the same for [Full Wide], [Original], and [Just Scan] options at the recommended resolution. There is no [Just Scan] menu on [Adaptive-Sync]/[FreeSync Premium Pro] Mode.
[General] [Settings] > [General] •• [Waves MaxxAudio®]: Select the sound equipment what you are using. ENGLISH [Over-the-ear] [On-ear] [Ear-buds] -- [Off]: Disables the [Waves Maxx Audio®] feature. •• [Language]: Sets the menu screen to the desired language. •• [SMART ENERGY SAVING]: Conserve energy by using luminance compensation algorithm. -- [High]: Saves energy using the high-efficiency [SMART ENERGY SAVING] feature. -- [Low]: Saves energy using the low-efficiency [SMART ENERGY SAVING] feature.
•• [Buzzer]: This feature lets you set the sound generated from Buzzer when your monitor powers on. •• [OSD Lock]: This feature disables the configuration and adjustment of menus. All features are disabled except [Brightness], [Contrast] in [Picture Adjust], [Input], [OSD Lock] and [Information] in [General]. •• [Information]: The following display information will be shown; [Total Power On Time], [Resolution].
TROUBLESHOOTING ENGLISH 26 Nothing is displayed on the screen. •• Is the monitor's power cord plugged in? -- Check if the power cord is correctly plugged into the power outlet. •• Is the monitor's adapter plugged in? -- Make sure to use the adapter that is provided in the product package. •• Is the power LED on? -- Check the power cable connection and press the power button. •• Is the power on and the power LED displaying red? -- Check that the connected input is enabled ([Settings] > [Input]).
3840 x 2160 resolution is not available. (144 Hz) ENGLISH •• Is it connected to the correct input? -- If it is connected with HDMI input, set it to DisplayPort input. -- Go to [Settings] > [General] > [DisplayPort Version] and set the option to [1.4(DSC)]. •• Check if the graphic card supports the DSC (Display Stream Compression). •• Check if the graphics card driver has been updated to the latest version. Some features are disabled.
The screen retains an image. ENGLISH •• Does image sticking occur even when the monitor is turned off? -- Displaying a still image for a prolonged time may cause damage to the screen, resulting in the retention of the image. -- To extend the lifetime of the monitor, use a screensaver. Screen display is unstable and shaky. / Images displayed on the monitor leave shadow trails.
The display color is abnormal. ENGLISH •• Does the display appear discolored (16 colors)? -- Set the color to 24 bit (true color) or higher. In Windows, go to Control Panel > Display > Settings > Color Quality. (The settings may differ depending on the operating system (OS) you use.) •• Does the display color appear unstable or monochrome? -- Check if the signal cable is connected properly. Reconnect the cable or reinsert the PC's graphics card.
