Product and Button Description How to Use the Joystick Button Basic Functions Power on Power off Press and hold the joystick button once with your finger to turn off the monitor. You can control the volume by moving the joystick button left/ right. / Volume control / Controls You can control the screen’s screen brightness by moving the joystick brightness button up/down.
Moving and Lifting the Monitor ENGLISH When moving or lifting the monitor, follow these instructions to prevent the monitor from being scratched or damaged and to ensure safe transportation, regardless of its shape or size. •• Place the monitor in the original box or packing material before attempting to move it. •• Before moving or lifting the monitor, disconnect the power cord and all other cables. •• Hold the bottom and side of the monitor frame firmly. Do not hold the panel itself.
Installing on a Table 1 Lift the monitor and place it on the table in an upright position. In addition, this may cause the joystick button to malfunction.

•• To avoid injury to the fingers when adjusting the screen, do not hold the lower part of the monitor’s frame as illustrated below. NOTE •• The left or right side of the monitor head can be slightly rotated up or down (up to 3°). Adjust the horizontal level of the monitor head. ENGLISH Tidying up Cables Using the Kensington Lock Arrange the cables using the cable holder as shown in the illustration. The connector for the Kensington security system is located at the bottom of the monitor. For more information on installation and usage, refer to the Kensington lock owner’s manual or visit the website at http://www.kensington.com. Connect the monitor to a table using the Kensington security system cable. Mouse Holder NOTE •• The Kensington security system is optional.
Installing on the Wall This monitor meets the specifications for the wall mount plate or other compatible devices. Install the monitor at least 100 mm away from the wall and leave about 100 mm of space at each side of the monitor to ensure sufficient ventilation. Detailed installation instructions can be obtained from your local retail store. Alternatively, please refer to the manual for how to install and set up a tilting wall mounting bracket. 1 Place the screen face down.
ENGLISH To install the monitor to a wall, attach a wall mounting bracket (optional) to the back of the monitor. Make sure that the wall mounting bracket is securely fixed to the monitor and to the wall. 1 If you use screws longer than the standard length, it may damage the inside of the product. 2 A non-VESA standard screw may damage the product and cause the monitor to fall. LG Electronics is not liable for any accidents relating to the use of non-standard screws.

ENGLISH USING THE MONITOR •• Illustrations in this manual may differ from the actual product. Press the joystick button, go to Settings → Input, and then select the input option. Connecting to a PC •• This monitor supports the *Plug and Play feature. * Plug and Play: A feature that allows you to add a device to your computer without having to reconfigure anything or install any manual drivers. CAUTION •• Do not press the screen for a prolonged time. This may cause image distortion.
DisplayPort Connection Connecting AV Devices HDMI Connection NOTE •• There may be no video or audio output depending on the DP (DisplayPort) version of the PC. •• Make sure to use the supplied DisplayPort cable of the product. Otherwise, this may cause the device to malfunction. HDMI transmits digital video and audio signals from your AV device to the monitor. NOTE •• Using a DVI to HDMI / DP (DisplayPort) to HDMI cable may cause compatibility issues.
Connecting Peripherals Connecting Headphones ENGLISH Connect peripherals to the monitor via the headphones port. USB Cable connection The USB port on the product functions as a USB hub. To use USB 3.0, connect the A-B type USB 3.0 cable of the product to the PC. Peripheral devices connected to the USB IN port can be controlled from the PC. NOTE NOTE •• Peripheral devices are sold separately.
Activating the Main Menu Button Menu Status Main menu disabled Enables the main menu. Main menu enabled Exits the main menu. (Holding down the button to turn off the monitor. User Settings ENGLISH Menu Settings 1 2 3 4 To view the settings menu, press the joystick button at the bottom of the monitor and then enter the Settings. Configure the options by moving the joystick up/down/left/right. To return to the upper settings or set other settings items, move the joystick to or press ( ). If you want to exit the settings menu, move the joystick to until you exit.

Settings > Game Adjust Description ENGLISH On Sets Overclock to a higher refresh rate than specified by the panel specification. Off Disables the Overclock improvement feature. NOTE Game Adjust Overclock •• After the monitor reboots, change the maximum refresh rate setting in the GPU control panel. •• If the screen display appears abnormal, turn off the Overclock setting. •• The function can only be used through DisplayPort.
CAUTION Game Adjust Adaptive-Sync Black Stabilizer •• In HDMI input, the menu name is displayed as certified AMD FreeSync Tier name instead of Adaptive-Sync. (FreeSync / FreeSync Premium / FreeSync Premium Pro) •• Supported Interface: DisplayPort (Adaptive-Sync), HDMI (FreeSync). •• Supported Graphic Card : A graphic card that supports NVIDIA's G-SYNC or AMD’s FreeSync is necessary. •• Supported Version : Make sure to update the graphic card to the latest driver.
ENGLISH Sets a response time for displayed pictures based on the speed of the screen. For a normal environment, it is recommended that you use Fast. For a fast-moving picture, it is recommended that you use Faster. Setting to Faster may cause image sticking. Response Time Game Adjust Cross Hair Game Reset Faster Sets the response time to faster. Fast Sets the response time to fast. Normal Sets the response time to normal. Off Does not use the response time improvement feature.
Picture Adjust Description Brightness Adjusts the brightness of the screen. Contrast Adjusts the contrast of the screen. Sharpness Adjusts the sharpness of the screen. Gamma Mode 1, Mode 2, Mode 3 The higher the gamma value, the darker the image becomes. Likewise, the lower the gamma value, the lighter the image becomes. Mode 4 If you do not need to adjust the gamma settings, select Mode 4. Custom The user can adjust it to red, green, or blue by customization.
ENGLISH Black Level Picture Adjust DFC Picture Reset Sets the offset level (for HDMI only). yy Offset: as a reference for a video signal, this is the darkest color the monitor can display. High Keeps the current contrast ratio of the screen. Low Lowers the black levels and raises the white levels from the current contrast ratio of the screen. On Adjusts the brightness automatically according to the screen. Off Disables the DFC feature. No Cancel the select.
Description Input Selects the input mode. Adjusts the aspect ratio of the screen. Ratio Full Wide Displays the video in widescreen, regardless of the video signal input. Original Displays video according to the aspect ratio of the video signal input. Just Scan The aspect ratio is not adjusted from the original. NOTE Input •• The display may look the same for Full Wide, Original, and Just Scan options at the recommended resolution.
Settings > General ENGLISH Language SMART ENERGY SAVING Description Sets the menu screen to the desired language. High Saves energy using the high-efficiency SMART ENERGY SAVING feature. Low Saves energy using the low-efficiency SMART ENERGY SAVING feature. Off Disables the SMART ENERGY SAVING feature. Turns the power LED on the bottom of the monitor on or off. The power LED turns on automatically.
Provides global dimming effects depending on game or video content. Preferably for PC gaming experiences. Fast Preferably for console gaming experiences. Normal Preferably for playing video content and internet or word-processing. Off Disables the Variable Backlight feature. NOTE •• When these feature is enabled, a slight halo effect may be shown on dark backgrounds. This is normal and not a malfunction. •• The function can only be used on HDR content.
ENGLISH TROUBLESHOOTING Nothing is displayed on the screen. Is the monitor's power cord plugged in? •• Check if the power cord is correctly plugged into the power outlet. Is the power LED on? •• Check the power cable connection and press the power button. Is the power on and the power LED displaying red? •• Check that the connected input is enabled (Settings > Input).
The screen retains an image. •• Displaying a still image for a prolonged time may cause damage to the screen, resulting in the retention of the image. •• To extend the lifetime of the monitor, use a screensaver. Screen display is unstable and shaky. / Images displayed on the monitor leave shadow trails. Did you select the appropriate resolution? •• If the selected resolution is HDMI 1080i 60/50 Hz (interlaced), the screen may be flickering. Change the resolution to 1080p or the recommended resolution.
The display color is abnormal. ENGLISH Does the display appear discolored (16 colors)? •• Set the color to 24 bit (true color) or higher. In Windows, go to Control Panel > Display > Settings > Color Quality. (The settings may differ depending on the operating system (OS) you use.) Does the display color appear unstable or monochrome? •• Check if the signal cable is connected properly. Reconnect the cable or reinsert the PC's graphics card.
