ASSEMBLING AND PREPARING Lifting and moving the TV When moving or lifting the TV, read the following to prevent the TV from being scratched or damaged and for safe transportation regardless of its type and size. 13 When transporting a large TV, there should yy be at least 2 people. When you attach the TV to other building materials, please contact qualified personnel. LG recommends that wall mounting be performed by a qualified professional installer.

REMOTE CONTROL 19 REMOTE CONTROL The descriptions in this manual are based on the buttons on the remote control. Please read this manual carefully and use the TV correctly. To replace batteries, open the battery cover, replace batteries (1.5 V AAA) matching and ends to the label inside the compartment, and close the battery cover. WATCHING TV WATCHING TV Connecting an antenna Connect an antenna to watch TV while referring to the following. To prevent damage do not connect to the mains outlet until all connections are made between the devices. Connect the TV to a wall antenna socket with an RF cable (75 Ω). 23 Turning the TV on for the first time When you turn the TV on for the first time, the Initial setting screen appears. Use this to automatically find and store all available programmes. WATCHING TV Editing your programme list In DTV/RADIO mode When a programme number is skipped, it means that you will be unable to select it using P∧∨ (P+ -) button during TV viewing. If you wish to select the skipped programme, directly enter the programme number with the NUMBER buttons or select it in the Programme edit menu. The TV gives you access to digital teletext which is greatly improved in various aspects such as text, graphics etc.

WATCHING TV Using additional options Adjusting aspect ratio - Just Scan: Displays video images in the original size without removing parts of the edge of the image. Resize an image to view at its optimal size by pressing RATIO while you are watching TV. NOTE ENGLISH ENG yy You can also change the image size by pressing Q. MENU or accessing Aspect Ratio in the Picture menus. yy For Zoom Setting, select 14:9, Zoom/ Cinema Zoom in Ratio Menu. After completing Zoom Setting, the display goes back to Q.
WATCHING TV - 14:9 : You can view a picture format of 14:9 or a general TV programme in the 14:9 mode. The 14:9 screen is viewed in the same way as in 4:3, but is moved to the up and down. 35 Changing AV modes (Except for 42PA45**) Each AV mode has the optimized image and sound settings. Press AV MODE repeatedly to select an appropriate mode. Off - Zoom(Depending on model): Enlarges an image to fit the screen width. The top and bottom of the image may not appear.

PENTOUCH PENTOUCH (ONLY PENTOUCH TV) Using Pentouch Pentouch allows you to use touch pen supported features like Sketchbook, Photo Editor, Family Diary, Gallery, Internet and My Office. WARNING ENGLISH ENG y yDo not drop or throw the touch pen and cradle.Do not swing the touch pen and cradle with the charging cable connected to it. This can damage the product or cause personal injury. y yFor people using pacemakers, the distance between the touch pen and the pacemaker should be at least 30 cm.
PENTOUCH y yWhen multiple people use the touch pen and cradle, make sure that sufficient space is available. Pentouch does not support dual monitor yy mode or duplicate (mirror) monitor mode. Check that the PC screen is set to only be displayed on the TV. The switch screen key of the laptop may be yy subject to change by the manufacturer. CAUTION The Play Video function in Photo Editor may yy not work as intended, depending on the codecs installed on your computer.
