INTRODUCING YOUR DRYER WHAT IS A HYBRID DRYER? What is hybrid dryer technology? How does it work? LG hybrid dryers use a combination of conventional heating elements and a heat pump system to dry your clothes. The heat pump recovers heat from the hot, moist air that is normally exhausted to the outside and lost. Heat naturally moves from warmer areas toward cooler areas. Heat pumps control this movement by trapping hot air.
INTRODUCING YOUR DRYER By design, any time you use a heated cycle, the dryer will save some energy. However, some cycles and options will take greater advantage of the hybrid technology than others, so using those cycles and options when appropriate may save you even more energy.

Raise or lower the leveling feet until dryer is level from side to side and front to back.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS CONNECTING THE DRAIN HOSE Option 2: Using a Y connector • The drain hose that is enclosed with the dryer must be connected to the nozzle in the rear of the cabinet before using the dryer in order to drain the condensed water from the compressor. Install a Y connector in your standpipe. • The drain hose is not connected with the steam functions of the dryer and must be connected even if you do not use the steam functions of the dryer.

This will help ensure the fastest and most efficient drying performance. Make sure to reinstall the filter, pressing down until it clicks firmly into place. The dryer will not operate without the lint filter in place. LOAD THE DRYER Load the dryer with the wet laundry from the washer.

How to use Cycle setting buttons SENSOR DRY cycles have preset settings that are selected automatically. MANUAL DRY cycles have default settings, but you may also customize the settings using the cycle setting buttons. Press the button for that option to view and select other settings. NOTE To protect your garments, not every dryness level, temperature, or option is available with every cycle. See the Cycle Guide for details. Dry Level Selects the level of dryness for the cycle.
How to use Special functions * RACK DRY Use RACK DRY with items, such as wool sweaters, silk, and lingerie, that should dry flat. RACK DRY can also be used with items that should not be tumbled dry, such as gym shoes or stuffed animals. The default heat setting for the Rack Dry cycle is no heat. To prevent excess heat buildup in the items and to help prevent damage, only Low and Ultra Low heat settings are available. These can be selected before starting the cycle.
How to use Custom program 3. F ill the steam feeder just to the filter screen with clean water. Do not use distilled water. If you have a special combination of settings that you use frequently, you can save these settings as a CUSTOM PROGRAM. * To Save a Custom Program: 1. How to use 37 Steam functions (cont.) Using the Steam Fresh™ Cycle Steam Fresh™ uses the power of steam alone to quickly reduce wrinkles and odor in fabrics. It brings new life to wrinkled clothes that have been stored for an extended time and makes heavily wrinkled clothes easier to iron. Steam Fresh™ can also be used to help reduce odors in fabrics. NOTE • Reduce Static or Easy Iron options can also be used during the Steam Fresh™ cycle.

This is normal. • Do not use Steam Fresh™ with items such as wool, wool blanket, leather jackets, silk, wet clothes, lingerie, foam products, or electric blankets. • For best results, load articles of similar size and fabric type. Do not overload. • When the filter/duct is clogged, the steam option may not have optimal results.

However, the LowTemp Dry+ cycle is designed to use the heat pump system as much as possible to recover heat from the air exhausted from the drum. This heat transfer cycle is both what saves energy and extends the drying time.

USING Smart Diagnosis™ USING Smart Diagnosis™ Should you experience any problems with your dryer, it has the capability of transmitting data to your Smart Phone using the LG Smart Laundry Application or via your telephone to the LG call center. Smart Diagnosis™ cannot be activated unless your dryer is turned on by pressing the Power button. If your dryer is unable to turn on, then troubleshooting must be done without using Smart Diagnosis™.
