The ice dispenser dispenses cubed and crushed ice. DOOR ALARM The Door Alarm function sounds if a refrigerator door or freezer drawer remains open. If a refrigerator door or freezer drawer is left open for more than 60 seconds, a warning alarm sounds in 30 second intervals.

INSTALLATION INSTALLATION Unpacking Your Refrigerator WARNING y Use two or more people to move and install the refrigerator. Failure to do so can result in back or other injury. y Your refrigerator is heavy. When moving the refrigerator for cleaning or service, be sure to protect the floor. The refrigerator has rollers. Wind in the leveling feet and pull the refrigerator straight out when moving it. Do not wiggle or walk the refrigerator when trying to move it, as floor damage could occur.
INSTALLATION Ambient Temperature Install this appliance in an area where the temperature is between 13°C and 43°C. If the temperature around the appliance is too low or high, cooling ability may be adversely affected. Do not store the refrigerator in Direct Sunlight or sheltered outdoor areas. Removing/Assembling the Refrigerator Door Handles NOTE Removing the doors is always recommended when it is necessary to move the refrigerator through a narrow opening.
INSTALLATION Removing/Assembling the Freezer Drawer Handle Removing/Assembling the Doors and Drawers Removing the Handles Removing the doors is always recommended when it is necessary to move the refrigerator through a narrow opening. 1 Loosen the set screws located on the lower side of the handle with a 1/8 in. Allen key and remove the handle. 2 Loosen the mounting fasteners connect to the freezer drawer and handle using a 1/4 in. Allen key, and remove the mounting fasteners.
INSTALLATION 2 5 After disconnecting the water feed tube, open the left door. Remove the screw from the hinge cover at the top of the refrigerator. Lift the hook (not visible), located at the bottom of the front side of the cover with a flat-head screwdriver. Lift the door from the middle hinge pin and remove the door. CAUTION Place the door, inside facing up, on a non-scratching surface. 3 Remove the cover and pull out the tube Disconnect all wire harnesses .
INSTALLATION Removing the Right Refrigerator Door 1 4 Lift the door from the middle hinge pin and remove the door. Open the door. Remove the top hinge cover screw . Lift the hook (not visible), located at the bottom of the front side of the cover , with a flat-head screwdriver. CAUTION Place the door on the floor, inside facing up, on a non-scratching surface. 2 3 Detach the wire harness Rotate the hinge lever Lift the top hinge lever latch. . clockwise.
INSTALLATION Assembling the Right Refrigerator Door Install the right-side door first. 1 Make sure that the plastic sleeve is inserted in the bottom of the door. Lower the door onto the middle hinge pin as shown in the figure. 2 Fit the top hinge over the hinge lever latch and slot it into place. Rotate the lever counterclockwise to secure the hinge. Hinge Lever Latch 3 Install the grounding screw and connect the wire harness .
INSTALLATION Assembling the Left Refrigerator Door 4 Push the water supply tube into the hole on the top case and pull it through the backplate. 5 Hold the water supply connection and gently push in the collet to connect the water supply line as shown in and . Insert the tube at least 5/8 inch (15 mm) into the connector. Assemble the clip to the joint part for fastening. Install the left refrigerator door after the right door is installed.
INSTALLATION Removing the Freezer Drawers 17 3 Remove the screws of the rail on both sides. 4 With both hands, hold both sides of the door and pull it up to separate it from the rails. 5 With both hands, flex the center bar enough to allow the gears on both ends to release from the track. CAUTION y Care should be taken to avoid product or property damage when removing the freezer door. It maybe necessary to have assistance with the following insturctions.

INSTALLATION 19 Connecting the Water Line Before You Begin Water Pressure This water line installation is not covered by the refrigerator warranty. Follow these instructions carefully to minimize the risk of expensive water damage. A cold water supply. The water pressure must be between 150kpa~500kpa on models without a water filter and between 200kpa and 500kpa on models with a water filter.
INSTALLATION Leveling and Door Alignment Leveling Door Alignment After installing, plug the refrigerator’s power cord into a 3-prong grounded outlet and push the refrigerator into the final position. Both the left and right refrigerator doors have an adjustable nut, located on the bottom hinge, to raise and lower them to align properly.
HOW TO USE 21 HOW TO USE Before use Clean the refrigerator. Clean your refrigerator thoroughly and wipe off all dust that accumulated during shipping. CAUTION y Do not scratch the refrigerator with a sharp object or use a detergent that contains alcohol, a flammable liquid or an abrasive when removing any tape or adhesive from the refrigerator. y Do not peel off the model or serial number label or the technical information on the rear surface of the refrigerator.

Control Panel Features The LED Display shows the temperature settings, dispenser options, water filter, door alarm, and locking status messages. Ice Type Press the ICE TYPE button to select either Crushed or Cubed Ice. The selected option will illuminate on the LED display. Freezer LED Display Press the FREEZER button to adjust the temperature in the freezer compartment.
HOW TO USE 23 Control Panel Features (continued) Light CAUTION Display Mode (For Store Use Only) Press the LIGHT button, to turn on the dispenser light. The indicator will appear on the LED display. Change Filter When the water filter indicator turns on, you have to change the water filter. After changing the water filter, press and hold the FILTER button for three seconds to turn the indicator light off. You need to change the water filter approximately every six months.
HOW TO USE In-Door Ice Bin * Depending on the model, some of the following functions may not be available. 2 CAUTION To remove the in-door ice bin, grip the front handle, slightly lift the lower part, and slowly pull out the bin as shown. y Keep hands and tools out of the ice compartment door and dispenser chute. Failure to do so may result in damage or personal injury. y The icemaker will stop producing ice when the in-door ice bin is full.
HOW TO USE 25 Automatic Icemaker Icemaker * Depending on the model, some of the following functions may not be available. Ice is made in the automatic icemaker and sent to the dispenser. The icemaker will produce 14 cubes per cycle—approximately 52~140 cubes in a 24-hour period, depending on freezer compartment temperature, room temperature, number of door openings and other operating conditions. It takes about 12 to 24 hours for a newly installed refrigerator to begin making ice.
HOW TO USE Automatic Icemaker (continued) CAUTION y The first ice and water dispensed may include particles or odor from the water supply line or the water tank. y Throw away the first few batches of ice. This is also necessary if the refrigerator has not been used for a long time. y Never store beverage cans or other items in the ice bin for the purpose of rapid cooling. Doing so may damage the icemaker or the containers may burst.
HOW TO USE 27 Ice and Water Dispenser Incorrect Way Correct Way * Depending on the model, some of the following functions may not be available. Water CAUTION Keep children away from the dispenser. Children may play with or damage the controls. Dispenser Ice Water Switch CAUTION Throw away the first few batches of ice (about 24 cubes). This is also necessary if the refrigerator has not been used for a long time.

HOW TO USE 29 Food Storage Tips * The following tips may not be applicable depending on the model. Wrap or store food in the refrigerator in airtight and moisture-proof material unless otherwise noted. This prevents food odor and taste transfer throughout the refrigerator. For dated products, check date code to ensure freshness. Food How to Butter or Margarine Keep opened butter in a covered dish or closed compartment. When storing an extra supply, wrap in freezer packaging and freeze.
HOW TO USE Storing Frozen Food (continued) Packaging Humidity Controlled Crisper and Glide’N’Serve Successful freezing depends on correct packaging. When you close and seal the package, it must not allow air or moisture in or out. If it does, you could have food odor and taste transfer throughout the refrigerator and could also dry out frozen food.
HOW TO USE Detaching and Assembling the Storage Bins Glide’N’Serve and Humidity Controlled Crisper 31 To Remove the Glass (Pantry drawer not shown for clarity) Lift up the glass under the crisper cover, and pull up and out. To remove the Humidity Controlled Crisper and the Glide’N’Server, pull out the Crisper and Glide’N’Server to full extension, lift the front up, and pull straight out. Door Bins The door bins are removable for easy cleaning and adjustment.
HOW TO USE Adjusting the Refrigerator Shelves The shelves in your refrigerator are adjustable to meet your individual storage needs. Your model may have glass or wire shelves. Using the Folding Shelf You can store taller items by simply pushing the front half of the shelf underneath the back half of the shelf. Pull the front of the shelf toward you to return to a full shelf. Adjusting the shelves to fit different heights of items will make finding the exact item you want easier.
MAINTENANCE 33 MAINTENANCE Cleaning Both the refrigerator and freezer sections defrost automatically; however, clean both sections about once a month to prevent odors. Wipe up spills immediately. Always unplug the refrigeration before cleaning. General Cleaning Tips Unplug refrigerator or disconnect power. Remove all removable parts, such as shelves, crispers, etc. Use a clean sponge or soft cloth and a mild detergent in warm water. Do not use abrasive or harsh cleaners.
MAINTENANCE Light bulb replacement WARNING Electrical Shock Hazard Before replacing a Compartment Lamp, either unplug the refrigerator or turn off power at the circuit breaker or fuse box. 4 Rotate the bulb counterclockwise to remove. 5 Replace with a new 40-watt appliance bulb. 6 Insert tabs on back of cover into slots in freezer ceiling. Push cover up to snap front into place. 7 Tighten the screw using a Phillips screwdriver.
MAINTENANCE 35 Power interruptions When you move 1 If the power will be out for 24 hours or less, When you are moving your refrigerator to a new home, follow these steps to prepare it for the move. keep all refrigerator doors closed to help foods stay cold and frozen. 2 If the power will be out for more than 24 hours, remove all food and store it in a different refrigerator or frozen food locker. 1 Remove all food from the refrigerator and pack all frozen food in dry ice. 2 Unplug the refrigerator.
MAINTENANCE Replacing the Water Filter It is recommended that you replace the water filter: y Approximately every six months. y When the water filter indicator turns on. y When the water dispenser output decreases. y When the ice cubes are smaller than normal. Before Replacing the Water Filter: If the top shelf, located below the water filter, is in the highest position, it will need to be removed prior to replacing the water filter.

This gives you the capability of speaking directly to our trained specialists. The specialist records the data transmitted from your machine and uses it to analyze the issue, providing a fast and effective diagnosis. TROUBLESHOOTING TROUBLESHOOTING Review the Troubleshooting section before calling for service; doing so will save you both time and money. Problem Refrigerator and Freezer section are not cooling. TROUBLESHOOTING Problem Interior moisture buildup. Possible Causes Solutions Doors are opened often or for long periods of time. When the doors are opened often or for long periods of time, warm, humid air enters the compartment. This raises the temperature and moisture level within the compartment. To lessen the effect, reduce the frequency and duration of door openings. Doors not closed correctly. See the Doors will not close correctly section in the Troubleshooting section. Weather is humid.
TROUBLESHOOTING Problem Possible Causes 41 Solutions Frost or ice Condensation from food with a crystals on frozen high water content has frozen food (inside of inside of the food package. sealed package). Food has been left in the freezer for a long period of time. This is normal for food items with a high water content. Icemaker is not making enough ice. Demand exceeds ice storage capacity. The icemaker can produce approximately 52~140 cubes in a 24 hour period only under favorable conditions.
TROUBLESHOOTING Problem Icemaker is not making enough ice (continued). Possible Causes Solutions Doors are opened often or for long periods of time. If the doors of the unit are opened often, ambient air will warm the refrigerator which will prevent the unit from maintaining the set temperature. Lowering the refrigerator temperature can help, as well as not opening the doors as frequently. Doors are not closed completely. If the doors are not properly closed, ice production will be affected.
TROUBLESHOOTING 43 Problem Not dispensing ice. Possible Causes Doors are not closed completely. Solutions Ice will not dispense if any of the refrigerator doors are left open. Infrequent use of the dispenser. Infrequent use of the ice dispenser will cause the cubes to stick together over time, which will prevent them from properly dispensing. Check the ice bin for ice cubes clumping/sticking together. If they are, break up the ice cubes to allow for proper operation.
TROUBLESHOOTING Problem Not dispensing water. Possible Causes Solutions New installation or water line recently connected. Dispense 10 liters of water (flush for approximately 5 minutes) to remove trapped air and contaminates from the system. Do not dispense the entire 10 liter amount continuously. Depress and release the dispenser pad for cycles of 30 seconds ON and 60 seconds OFF. The dispenser panel is locked.
TROUBLESHOOTING 45 Problem Possible Causes Ice has bad taste or odor. Water supply contains minerals such as sulfur. Solutions A water filter may need to be installed to eliminate taste and odor problems. NOTE: In some cases, a filter may not help. It may not be possible to remove all minerals / odor / taste in all water supplies. Icemaker was recently installed. Discard the first few batches of ice to avoid discolored or bad tasting ice. Ice has been stored for too long.
