INSTALLATION Installing the appliance Gas connection NOTE CAUTION •• Do not use a silicon sealant to seal the appliance against the aperture. This will make it difficult to remove the appliance from the aperture in future, particularly if it needs to be serviced. OPERATION 15 OPERATION To ignite a burner How to use the appliance •• Press in the control knob of the burner that you wish to light and turn it anti-clockwise to the maximum position. The following symbols will appear on the control panel, next to each control knob : •• If you keep the control knob depressed, the automatic ignition for the burner will operate.
OPERATION Using a Wok NOTE Smaller flat-bottomed woks can be used directly on the trivet. Make sure that the wok bottom sits flat on the trivet. CAUTION •• If using a round-bottomed wok, use the included wok trivet. Do not use a wok support ring. Placing the ring over the burner or trivet may cause the burner to work improperly, resulting in carbon monoxide levels above allowable standards. This can be hazardous to your health.
OPERATION 17 Safety and energy saving advice CAUTION •• Be careful! When you use oversize pot, the surface and around product may be overheated. Use the pot that is described below. Incorrect •• Do not use small diameter cookware on large burners. MAINTENANCE MAINTENANCE Cleaning and maintenance Top plate ONLY use Ceramic Glass Cleaner. Other creams may not be as effective or they might damage the surface with scratches or permanent staining. To maintain and protect the ceramic top plate, follow these steps: CAUTION •• Cleaning operations must only be carried out when the appliance is completely cool. •• The appliance should be disconnected from your mains supply before commencing any cleaning process.
MAINTENANCE 19 2 When the cooking surface has cooled down apply a few drops of a ceramic glass cleaner in each burner area and work the cleaning cream over the top plate surface with a damp paper towel as if you were cleaning a window. Burners •• Remove the burner caps and burner heads by pulling them upwards and away from the top plate. •• Soak them in hot water and a little detergent or washing up liquid. •• After cleaning and washing them, wipe and dry them carefully.
TROUBLESHOOTING TROUBLESHOOTING Before Calling for Service •• Repairs should be performed by a licensed technician only.
